If you haven’t had those players for chunks of the season, getting them back is an upgrade.
We are going to disagree that getting players back that you had slotted for your opening day roster is an upgrade. It is getting back to what your original plan was. Not improving on that plan.

Meanwhile how is this “upgrade” as you like to call it working out?

Hasn’t gotten results in AA, which seems to be a combo of bad luck at first and then trying to play through some shoulder inflammation for this last stretch

Super young for the level though so it’s not really concerning
Nothing concerns you. The recent takes on Mayer should be at least a little concerning. It's not a declaration on how things will turn out but certainly a little concerning. If he's super young for the level he's at and he's having a terrible time maybe he was brought up too soon.

According to nbc Mayer was in the top 5 prospect list but shot up to 15?
I believe you mean shot down :sarcasm:

It’s been said before, but just a brutal schedule down the stretch.

To put a number on it: SOS is .522, highest in baseball. Their projected end of season record is 83 wins, which has been the most realistic outcome for months.
The Jays schedule in comparison is a cakewalk on top of their already 3.5 game advantage.
It's not happening. Even the 10% of fangraphs seem generous.

I wish Bloom had the guts to sell. He didn't, which is fitting for his tenure in Boston: Average, no direction. It's just a shame they wasted 2 deadlines in a row on teams that weren't nowhere near close to competing. Add in the fact that Bloom mind boggingly doesn't care about fielding the bad news bears on defense, I have him with 1 foot out of the door already.

Hell baby
SOS would be a concern of mine if this was a normal team, but they’ve been playing up and down to the level of their competition all year

Angels are already calling up Nolan Schanuel, he was their 1st rounder this season. ~20 minor league games

Meh? What's the worst that happens for him and the team?
