He had 10 errors in 73 games at 3rd base last year. How much of him being a better 2nd baseman defensively was on the shift still being legal? They didn't give up much for him and him just being a major league player would make him an upgrade on Arroyo and Chang but i don't expect much production out of him besides making pitchers work. He’s bad at SS, he’s fine at 2B and 3B
Kinda like Kikè, just with way more upside in the bat. Was a good hitter at the MLB level in 2021 and 2022 over no small sample. He’s in the minors because he struggled returning from injury and had options. Just got hot in July so he may be back on track
Arroyo upgrade
10% and 12% better than his average league counterparts at the plate the last two years, he’ll need to bounce back but if he returns to form he’ll hit and hit well. The heavy majority of his homers are to the pull side so Fenway may help tooHe had 10 errors in 73 games at 3rd base last year. Bloom seems out of his league given those comments. Maybe other GM's just don't take him seriously. Definitely gone end of season if the team struggles down the stretch
I'm pretty much rooting for this team to fail at this point.
Here is Urias getting a knock off Sasaki in the WBC.
The thing is, the fan base has gotten extremely soft. Extremely. The pressure to actually perform at your job and win at the big league level is not there. Instead we fire the previous GM who was winning at the big league level but spent too much money and didn't have a highly enough rated farm system for the geek squad fans. So as long as people are still going to the ballpark and paying top prices what is the incentive for the Red Sox to change course? The new culture the FO is trying to install which gives the impression winning is the last thing they care about is such a shocking difference from the Sox of the past
I mean if you want to take it that way, go for it.I think Fangraphs gave them a 24% chance to make the playoffs this year.
Doesn't that make them underdogs by definition?
“It’s going to be awesome”I think Fangraphs gave them a 24% chance to make the playoffs this year.

Are they still doing winter weekend this year?“It’s going to be awesome”
Isn't that on the ownership? This team is a garbage fire and I hope they fail miserably. "We're the underdogs"??? No, you're not Bloom. You're the god damned Boston Red Sox. I don't care how you and ownership want to run this team like a small market, you're in a major market and that shit doesn't work here. Act like it and spend capital to get real players or shuffle off back to f***ing Tampa Bay.
For the 2nd straight year. So when do the patient prospect people finally put some pressure on this guy?DAN SHAUGHNESSY
The Red Sox’ Chaim Bloom showed at the trade deadline that he doesn’t believe in his own team
I was actually hoping Chaim would sell Tuesday because I don’t believe in this team, either. I was hoping he would get some real prospects for guys such as Alex Verdugo, Adam Duvall, and especially lefty starter James Paxton.
Bloom said there was interest in several of his players, but the matchups didn’t work.
And now Paxton will likely leave at the end of this season. Like Nate Eovaldi and Michael Wacha last year, Paxton will be told he must leave in order to get paid. The Sox are most interested in a team of 25 one-year contracts. Team control.
Remember this moment, Sox fans. This is what the road to irrelevance looks like.
When I get the sense that the organization isn't making progress towards building a sustainable winner. For the 2nd straight year. So when do the patient prospect people finally put some pressure on this guy?
Remember when Xander pouted? I like this better
And they could have the same record next year with a highly rated farm system and you'd say the same exact thing. When I get the sense that the organization isn't making progress towards building a sustainable winner.
So they couldn't sell 1 or 2 to acquire a pitcher?Blalock in our system = ~30th best prospect
Blalock in the Brewers system = ~15th best prospect
Says a lot about the health of the farm
I'm pretty much rooting for this team to fail at this point.
