You want people to buy in, finish this two gamer and simply stop losing series' to bad teams. And perhaps we are at a point now where the GM owes it to this team to invest. Doesn't have to be a huge splash but would be nice to see an addition or two.

At this point you can't sell "selling" to the fans. But you gotta wonder what Bloom has up his sleeves.
I can see him being willing to trade prospects that are having to be protected at the upcoming Rule v draft or some guys that occupy a 40 man slot, but that won't get you anything special. They still shouldn't and won't shoot past the luxury tax threshold.
I really have no idea what he's going after. Right handed RP could be on the shopping list.
The rotation - in a perfect world without additions - could be looking like this:
Sale, Paxton, Bello, Crawford, Whitlock, Houck + Pivetta + Kluber.
I wonder if a middling SP like a Montgomery for example would be worth the investment if he was potentially not even starting a playoff game with all these names in the mix.
And the offense is clicking and they get Story back. Maybe they have their eyes on another defensive minded SS just in case.
What else could be on the horizon?

They got a great win, and have hit their high water mark for the season. On to the versatile, fundamentally sound Giants, who scare me.

They gave up a Top 100 prospect for 10 starts from a guy with a comparable ERA+ to Kutter Crawford this year.
If they can get two top 5 prospects from a team for Paxton they should trade him. Prospects are overrated and all that but are they going to re-sign someone as injury prone as him? He might not even make it to the playoffs before getting injured if you make it anyway
I very much doubt they will be selling in any capacity at this point. I would just keep him and give him a QO at the end of the year. Keep him for a year or get the comp pick, either works for me
If a team gets dumb then maybe they’ll consider it but that other team will have to get really dumb I think

okay cockeyed optimist who will sacrifice everything for the minor league system. The Giants do not scare me that much, because while sound, they don't stink enough to sweep the Sox.
