The Sox after about one third of the season are right around .500. The run differential is slightly positive. They are in last place. Their X W-L matches the real W-L record. This team is exactly (!) what many expected them to be before the season as pretty much every serious outlet had them in the mid to late teen range in the power rankings.

Nothing what is currently happening should come as a surprise to anyone. The team is basically the epitome of mediocrity (except for defense, which was expected to be in the bottom 5 and it currently is for most metrics.) DRS has them almost as bad as the A's.

So again, nothing should have changed for anybody. If you were against Bloom, you should still be. if you were for him, you still should be. And if you are on the fence, you should still be.

This season was written off as soon as they went and stayed over the threshold last year. They cannot tell you directly, they need the seats to be filled. I expect them to go on a spending tree come off-season (probably aiming for a SP like Yamamoto or Nola). I am still undecided if I want Bloom to make these significant off-season decisions. My biggest gripe against him is still that he doesn't appear to rate defense and other fundamentals.
