No, he threw 97 pitches.Did Bello get hurt?
I mean I do tend to agree it's not a good team. I was holding out hope they would stay in contention but ultimately I don't see it happening. 4th place was fun baby!Don't let their 500ish record fool you. This team absolutely sucks. Moreover, Bloom's vaunted minor league system is not good either.
Chaim Bloom may be (relatively) new to Boston, but his family roots run deep - The Boston Globe
His family history is interwoven with the fabric of 20th century Boston, even if he is not a native.www.bostonglobe.com
And there it is! Yet another Chaim Bloom puff piece from the Globe. No doubt held until the Bruins and Celtics seasons were over. LOL
That being said, full respect and gratitude to his grandfather and all those from the greatest generation who fought in the trenches in WW2.
Well I completely missed the 9th
Say what you want about the team- they’re average at worst to good at best- but they don’t roll over
I get that MLB drafts just end up being BPA since it's a good 4-5 years before most of them will make it to the show, if they even do, but we've taken shortstops high in the first round 2 years in a row and have a glut of middle infield prospects, so I can't really see them going the SS route again. Though it may be Bloom's philosophy that you draft SSs because they have the versatility and athleticism to move off position.ESPN did their 1st MLB Mock Draft and they have the Red Sox taking SS Jacob Wilson at #14.
from espn.com:
14. Boston Red Sox
Jacob Wilson, SS, Grand Canyon
The board is hitter heavy at this point and the Red Sox are looking at some safer, hit-first college players here, while targeting some upside/overpay types like Georgia prep shortstop Tai Peete later on. Mitchell and Aidan Miller are also candidates at this pot from the prep side. There's a perception that Wilson has slipped from a top-10 lock due to his lack of raw power, with teams opting for higher upside types. I think this is as low as Wilson or Bradfield will fall.
