Orsillo stole McDonough's whole shtick, wasn't nearly as good at doing it, and spent the last five years on the job giggling through every f***ing broadcast.

Well-earned firing. He couldn't be serious when the game called for him to be. I know because he was great when he'd call post-season games and wasn't worried about being a chucklehead.

Sounds like he's living an amazing life out West, so good for him, truly. He's not a bad guy at all, I just grew to really dislike how he specifically called Red Sox games.
I definitely lean hard to this

Mcdonagh to me an all timer

I was at game 5 v Panthers but I taped ESPN version and watched two weeks ago and McDonagh brought me back to his Red Sox days

He was second guessing Montgomery moves without being a Dick and ahead of the eventual bad stuff

I knew the outcome before I watched but he did not - and it was an amazing thing to see

I like Jack but this was Tom Brady vs Brian Hoyer in insight and game calling

Personally if I could select any announcer to call a game I’m watching I want McDonagh because he gives me the intersection I want to hang at where his perfectly woven comments and game calling cross

I am pissed Bloom did not sign Eovoldi & Wacha

You see there stats / insanity

Flip Houck to 2 days a week 9 batter late inning guy & make Whitlock who reminds me of Keith Foulke as closer

They could have locked up Bogey on a 5 year deal March 22 for 135-150 easily

Still sign Duvall and Yoshida & extend Devers

Save the money on the two relievers he signed as well as Turner & Mondesi & Kluber

He totally F’d up

They might have a top 2-3 team in baseball with those moves

What a brutal take.

Great stuff. You said Mets should sign both over verlander. Sox would have been right there with rays

Hell baby
I’ll never cry about not giving Wacha 4 years and they offered Eovaldi a good deal- he just wanted to explore free agency and by the time he came back we had spent the money. They then decided to collect the comp pick instead of violating the CBT once again (and not resetting), which in the short term isn’t great but long term is absolutely the correct decision to make. Eovaldi is an injury prone 33 YO. That’s not the guy you f*** up your long term plan for, especially when they’re not a World Series favorite. Many of you thought this team would be bad, not even close to contention- you can’t now be mad that they didn’t mortgage the future for the “win-now” move of signing an oft-injured 33 YO pitcher who had completed one (1) full season in the previous four (4)

Nate is having an obscene May though, very happy for him.

Yes. Of course. I don’t care if people differ from my opinion. I just think it was a horrid take. Orsillo is excellent, bar none. That’s it. My opinion though.

Lou, this is a message board. We know this. People say X, I say X or Y. That’s it. I value mostly everyone’s opinion. There’s a few that aren’t worth it. But I’m sure you’d agree with the list. It’s not long.

There is disagreeing with someone and leaving it at that or there is disagreeing and telling them their opinion is brutal.
