If only Alex Verdugo slide into home this game might of been different.

Can't wait for us to have the bases loaded this inning only to lose

Its gonna be a LONG f***ING SUMMER.

„…but it‘s going to be awesome“

The early losing can be a blessing in disguise. Unlike last year when the record prior to the DL lead them to believe they may have a shot at contending.

There is no reason not to cash in on Paxton. A pitcher like him will be wanted and can return a legit top 100 prospect.

,,,might be time to change the manager...
I don't think Alex Cora has forgotten how to manage.

Frustrating team to watch because at times the offense has looked great, and at times the pitching has looked pretty good... but they can't seem to get both going at the same time.

It's the middle of June. Let's see what happens over the next month or so.

I will predict that they will be .500 a month from now and probably .500 at the end of the year. Give or take a couple games. And then we can move on from the Chaim Bloom experience.

That was the nail in the coffin to me

I honestly can understand this to a degree. I’m not there yet but I can see why that one was it for you. Last night was like an episode of Law and Order. It was especially heinous.

What is the nail to you though? Cora? Bloom? Both? New ownership lol

the curse of Injured Schreiber

Underrated massive loss right now. Take a Kluber or a Garza off the roster for Schreiber and it’s a huge add.

Speaking of Garza, do you option him and call up Murphy again? I liked what I saw from him in that one start. Need to see what you have in him as well.

I'm not feeling good about Cora or Bloom right now. I thought I'd have more patience for Bloom to build his vision for the franchise and let guys like Meyer arrive, but even then, we're in year 4 and regressing. Dombrowski did leave a mess with a limited farm system and some bad contracts locked in, but with resources at his disposal, Bloom has shown no ability to construct a pitching staff. He completely bungled the deadline last year leaving us above the luxury tax threshold which sets the whole franchise back by a year. So yeah, I'm almost there in terms of losing faith in him. We were sold the image of Dodgers East but just got a bunch of washed up former Dodgers.

Cora, meh. After 2021 I thought he'd be here a long time. But he's gradually lost it since. Part of it is a poor roster around him for sure, but I don't want to let him off the hook. I'm not calling to fire him but I would say he's lost that untouchable aura around him and if the next GM/President of Baseball Ops wants to start fresh with his own guy, I'd be okay with that.

Quick excerpt from a post elsewhere. I think this is an important part of the rebuild that gets pushed aside a bit. I’m giving Bloom the 2024 season to start producing. I do expect a big off-season for him, if he’s here.

I would understand a firing though. I will say the next GM could have a pretty nice prospect pool to work with. Bloom has definitely done a good job adding to the farm.

Also, thoughts on trying to get Josh Byrne from LA as a “President of Baseball Operations?” He’s currently their senior VP.

He was Theo‘s assistant GM in 2003-2004.

“In a 2005 interview with The Boston Globe, Epstein said of Byrnes, "He's a key voice in player personnel. He's got as much a feel for evaluating and statistical analysis as anyone in baseball.”

Guy seems to have a good touch on a lot of the orgs he’s been with.

Get rid of this a**clown immediately.

from cbssports.com:

The Boston Red Sox are taking another look at the status of pitcher Matt Dermody after finding more insensitive social media posts from him. Dermody made his first start with the Red Sox on June 8 after sitting down with chief baseball officer Chaim Bloom to discuss now-deleted homophobic tweets from 2021, but the team has since discovered more troubling posts.

Following his talk with Dermody earlier in June, Bloom felt comfortable keeping him in the organization and calling him up for the start. However, that sentiment may have changed, according to an interview Bloom did with the Boston Globe.

Bloom said the Red Sox missed more controversial posts from Dermody when they initially looked into his social media activity.

"We pride ourselves on doing the right due diligence so that we can have the right conversations around these things," Bloom told the Boston Globe. "We realized as this was unfolding [after the callup] that a process that is normally pretty robust missed some things. There were other concerning things on social media. We usually don't miss these types of things. In this case we did."

As a result of the team's most recent findings, Bloom said the Red Sox are looking at the best ways to address the situation.

"We're getting our arms around what the right steps are with respect to the new info, or at least the info that's new to us," Bloom said. "That's obviously a process that we'll need to go through to figure out the best way to address it and take it into account. We certainly take it very seriously."

glad my prediction before the season of either being shockingly surprised because they are good or them being so bad bloom gets fired is coming to fruition.
