The middle ground of both arbitrations look okay, and then we’re all set, for better or worse. Hopefully some of the kids can push and make for an interesting camp
Fair point, but even if there is some universe where the Bruins win a playoff round (or two) with Zacha/Coyle as 1C/2C there is no way they ever hoist a Cup. Regular season and even early playoff rounds mean nothing at the end of the day. I want the f***ing Cup.Zacha & Coyle as top 2 centers v Florida 3-1
Bergeron, Krejci, Matthews, Taveras, Aho, and Necas as top 2 centers v Florida 1-11
I don’t expert Zacha & Coyle to be the first like center on March 1 and maybe October 1Fair point, but even if there is some universe where the Bruins win a playoff round (or two) with Zacha/Coyle as 1C/2C there is no way they ever hoist a Cup. I only cared about Cups before last year, now even moreso. Regular season and even early playoff rounds mean nothing at the end of the day. I want the f***ing Cup.
Truly hope you're right.I don’t expert Zacha & Coyle to be the first like center on March 1 and maybe October 1
Really Dumb question here...when is the final day to be cap compliant? They can go 13 forwards and 7 dmen and be compliant.
That was my question basically, how does team see these players. Or if anyone had any insight how the organization views those depth guysWouldn’t they waive Mitchell and then Brown/Greer is 13F pending who wins jobs?
Really Dumb question here...when is the final day to be cap compliant?
This.“In the NHL, teams can exceed the salary cap by 10% in the offseason. But the fun and games are over once the calendar turns to Opening Day. At that time, every team in the league must be cap compliant.”
No such thing as a dumb question, so I keep getting told.Really Dumb question here...when is the final day to be cap compliant?
While logical, I have a really hard time seeing Sweeney actually being able to acquire a 1st once the season gets going.
So it's sell something in the off-season or bust.
Makes no sense to retain Ullmark , you will need another goalie to replace him and that puts you back or close to where you were...........I disagree...although it wouldn't be ideal I think worst case scenario Sweeney could even sell Ullmark 50% retained kind of like how the Blackhawks did with Jake McCabe. Ullmark at 2.5m for a playoff run and another full season for a contender is insane value.
Just read on trade thread Hanifin & Lindholm going to Calgary in August for Barkov & DuClair
As the Great Chris Berman once said, "There's no such thing as a dumb question only dumb people asking questions " LolThis.

Reunites Huberdeau with Barkov and Lindholm with Tkachuk

What is the latest point an UFA could sign with a NHL team and still qualify for the season and the playoffs?
What is the latest point an UFA could sign with a NHL team and still qualify for the season and the playoffs?
Isn’t it the TDL?
yes.
Do you see Sweeney selling if the team is remotely in a position of a playoff spot?I disagree...although it wouldn't be ideal I think worst case scenario Sweeney could even sell Ullmark 50% retained kind of like how the Blackhawks did with Jake McCabe. The rules have changed since Soderberg but if a UFA plays one game in a European league, then they must sign before Dec 15 or they will require waivers before they can play. And Soderberg was an RFA so there was no time on him.Are there special circumstances though? Like when Soderberg came over?
My wife and kids tell me the opposite on a near daily basis.This.
No such thing as a dumb question, so I keep getting told.
Wasn't Playmaker or Glorydaze that kept everyone updated regarding the Soderberg situation? I always appreciated those updated. I liked Soderberg in Boston. Are there special circumstances though? Like when Soderberg came over?
Scary zacha as your number one next year absolutely scary. Pink slip material.
True, but Sweeney hasn't been in this position before. I don't think he'd move Ullmark off a playoff team, but it would be interesting if he moved guys like JVR, Forbort and Shattenkirk. The younger players would have to do some good things but it would be nice to add a few picks at the deadline.Do you see Sweeney selling if the team is remotely in a position of a playoff spot?
Because I really don't. He hasn't been great at the sell, then buy method either. Which would involve a 2 part move.
He COULD do what you said, but I don't see Sweeney doing that unless they are like 95% out of the playoff picture, which I also don't see happening.
Which is why I think off-season or bust.
