What I think it comes down to is how can you obtain a 1st round pick from now until the TDL to flip for Elias Lindholm.
If you look at the forwards, it's just too bare to sell from IMO. You've lost Hall, Bergeron, Bertuzzi and presumably Krejci. I think Debrusk should be signed long term. They have no talent like him coming up any time soon to replace him.
Coyle likely doesn't have the value to return a 1st and neither do any of the UFA's. If they were to sell, Gryz, JVR, Forbort, and Shattenkirk they would return nothing more than second or third round picks.
That leaves the goalies...and although they don't typically hold a ton of value, I think you could definitely get a 1st or either Ullmark or Swayman. The goal would to obviously keep Swayman and build around him as a core player.
At the end of the day, what makes the most sense is to sell from a position of strength to address a position of weakness. I think they have to move Ullmark
