Hell baby
Has he really made them better?

That bottom 6 isn't anything special and Jarnkrok isn't really a top 6 forward.
They have 5 top 6 guys (maybe even 5 top 3 guys) with suspect D and goaltending. Same as always. Won’t go anywhere in the playoffs.

Will put up some sick numbies in the reg season tho

If they didn’t go all-in last year people would have thrown a bitch fit. They should have and did. They just choked. Sucks but thems the breaks
You do not understand. Without those picks, I can't bitch about the 17 year old I heard about 30 minutes ago that they absolutely should have picked instead of the 17 year old they REACHED for.

In the end, it's all about me.

Picks for 28 games of Bertuzzi and 30 games of Orlov:

1st 2023
1st 2024
2nd 2025
3rd 2024
4th 2025
5th 2023

Prettty steep for 2 rentals. Donny boy is a pure gift.
To bolster an already best regular season team, absolutely, why wouldn't you? Sweeney went all in for a Stanley Cup, but the players and coaches laid a big goose egg. The Bruins would have liked to re-sign both Bertuzzi and Orlov. Bertuzzi wanted too much term, and Orlov wanted too much money. The Bruins made the moves to win a cup. It's worth debating if it's worth the price or not, but if you put the team in the best possible position to win, I don't think you can knock the moves, that's hindsight 20/20.

If we look at the the deals Sweeney made in the past, if he moves a 1st, he usually does his best retain the player he traded for. Lindholm deal being the most recent, Sweeney wanted to extend Lindholm. It was an outlier season, and Sweeney went for it.

Leafs D and goaltending is swiss cheese with fungus I'm not worried. I was actually worried if they signed Ryan o'Reilly hes a killer for us. It hurts yes but I dont think it moves their needle . Remember always from the net out and Donny is a master of that.

Spending $4M on John Klingberg probably doesn't help with the suspect D

Sweeney's good decisions were very good. It's just his bad decisions were very bad, and there were more of those.

Sweeney took over a team that didn't make the playoffs the previous season.

Since then, the team has been to the 7th game of the Finals and had the best regular season in the history of the league.

How has he managed that with more very bad decisions than very good?

?? No money. Unless he’s moving out more salary, these are your 2023-24 Boston Bruins. Whatever little cap left is going towards Swayman, Frederic, Bergeron*… may not even have enough for that.
Lots of ways to improve roster move salary trade. It's if Donny wants to right or wrong he values forbert and grez then most of us. If you look at what they provide they are important. Forbert especially amazing at blocking shots . Let's see it's only July 2nd.

I still think they need to move Grizz since he’s up after next year and hopefully isn’t in the longterm plans. Wishful thinking but I’d like to see Forbort and Coyle moved, free up space for this year and the next two. Ullmark might be worth holding onto until next summer when the cap goes up.

Sure, but those are all deals that they handcuffed themselves with before this off season.

And they’ve already packaged assets to make a power play last deadline.

So what’s the answer, trade away even more picks to unload the bloating at the middle of the roster?

At some point the check comes due, and you’ve got to take your medicine.
Check has come due in a massive way. Like someone said, TTB will be filling the net for Toronto while Detroit holds the pick...lol.

Well, now that Bert, Hathaway and Orlov are out of the way. Let's see what the B's can do. If anything it'll be fun to watch.

And yet NOT ONE single person on this board had a problem with it when the trades were made....In fact, people were doing cartwheels.

Coyle will destroy any 3rd center they have at the moment. Who do they have jarnkrok?
