I'm 100% positive the bruins were interested in Duchene at that price point on a one year deal, but unfortunately he has to actually be interested in signing here too.
Maybe your right but we don't know either way.I am hoping its my way and Bergeron comes back lol

I was totally fine going with Zacha & Coyle as our top two centers. I said it before, but our best playoff games were with that setup. But that was with Bertuzzi as a winger, I’m a little less confident with JVR penciled in there.
I really don’t understand how anyone on this board can be happy going into next season with those two as the top centers. It blows my mind. The team isn’t sniffing the playoffs with what we have right now. The matchups will be completely different for teams to matchup against us with no 37 or 46. Im fine rolling as is but playoffs???

top 5 defensemen and both goalies from last season. As far as a Cup, yeah I get it, but they won't be terrible during the regular season IMO.

With Bert maybe. My personal preference is to trade Linus and start a 1-2 year transition…

But I can’t get around if Bergy comes back they won’t change focus.

Maybe DS is indicating he doesn’t want Bergy back? And wants transition?

My premise is trading Linus would be that true signal flare about direction.

We can agree to disagree.

I'm positive Don wants a six time Selke winner and the definition of an NHL captain back.

Why wouldn't he?

Beyond this, whether it happens sooner or later, Ullmark will be dealt, likely for "futures." I'm okay with that because, again, it makes no sense to keep two top tier goaltenders when one will do nicely, and is the goaltender of the future besides. Remember, Jeremy is just 24. He's already an excellent goaltender and will be here for many years to come.

Linus is 30, or almost 30. That's fine for a goaltender and I'm sure he has at least five good years left. He's a Vezina winner. He makes 5 million a year.

A team that needs a goaltender will take that any day.

And give the Bruins what they need the most: Draft selections.

I've got nothing against Ullmark and in a perfect world I'd like him to stay.

But, as I believe we can all see upon looking round, it's not a perfect world.

Interesting that FLA, a team that's biggest weakenss is its D, signed Mike Reilly. Head scratcher. Knew he would get picked up by somebody, but not by a team that just played in the SCF and needs better D.

If Bertuzzi goes else where do the Bruins sign someone like Daniel Strong? Too small of a team for the masses I would say.

46 was a shell of himself this past year, and he’s one of my all time favorite Bruin. But those lines are really more about high end to elite level wingers than the center. At least In my opinion. I suppose it changes with Debrusk instead of Hall, but Jake was pretty unreal last season too.

I like what Bruins have done they added sandpaper and experience.Sure beats doing nothing. If it does not work so be it cause they lost the last pile of years anyways so what the heck.Least with Looch they have somebody now that will beat the snot out of goofs like Bennett or Tkachuk.

YEAH BABY.

What is that I hear?

Music to my ears!

The games are played on the ice not on the message boards. We all knew this was coming and were all happy with the investment made this past trade deadline. Stuff happens and they didn’t get it done. That was not due to a lack of trying to add pieces at the deadline. I read a lot of this same moaning and groaning last offseason about how they were going to be a mediocre team. When they went on their run so many on these boards acted like they predicted it. Complete BS. What they’re doing today in free agency is trying to ice a competitive team with very little financial wiggle room. I applaud the effort to this point and there’s some potential upside with Geekie which is a bit of a bonus. If you’re a true fan you’ll weather this storm, accept what had to be done, and look forward to whoever pulls on the B’s sweater next season.
