Tampa Bay's Kucherov, Point and Vasilevskiy all make 9.5 M each. You really think McAvoy is as good as any of those three? I'm not upset. He's just a little overpaid, considering he doesn't have much of an NHL shot.

He certainly wasn't the solution in the playoffs.

The only issue I have with this is they’re not going to trade Ullmark mid season if they’re in the playoff race. But if the offers aren’t great right now then it’s best to hold onto him anyway.

Fair value? Absolutely. Team friendly, I'd say not exactly. It is what it is.

But gone are the days of their best players on discounts, so any boneheaded moves on the bottom of the roster can't be disguised as easy this time around.

Exactly they wasted those team friendly contracts by Marchand Bergeron etc by making horrible free agent decisions on 3rd and 4th line players and defenseman. Has Don Sweeney made one good free agent signing. He’s had to get rid of or buy put everyone.

And during the regular season but the captain was upset the way said player was treated. Also I thought the coaches were the problem but this core shat the bed for all three. The cup Julien won was a different core with Recchi etc. Time to change the players.
