And some are listening to Felger a bit too much.

Debrusk never quit on the team despite his struggles and a bottom six non-scoring role.

Debrusk should be a Bruin long term.

I don't think I actually even know what Felger sounds like, having never listened to Boston sports radio in my life. I do, however, remember a checked-out Debrusk on the second line with Krejci playing like dogshit and having trade requests getting leaked to the media. Let's not rewrite history here. He's turned it around since then and I'm happy for it but he should wear a bit of the blame for getting himself demoted to the bottom six shouldn't he?

Pretty good chance he’s ready this year. If not at the start then along the way. He’s there. He and Merkulov are as ready as a prospect can be.
Not sure which OSU and Providence games you watched last year. What I saw was that he wasn't very close defensively. Hard to believe that 2 months of not playing suddenly got him there. I won't be shocked if he gets in some games this year. Injuries happen, end of year teams expand rosters. But I do not think he's "ready".

Yeah no

Sounds like a good deal for Detroit, he wanted out of Ottawa and took his hometown discount.

He had a not so great year in Ottawa, so good that they recouped something.

Giving up Kevin Korchinksi (who BH drafted with Ottawas pick) is very tough though. I think he’s going to be great from what i’ve seen.

All depends on where the Sens pick this year. Time will tell I guess. Hell Kubalik could out score Debrincat this year. Ottawa pretty talented up front and this move could be a prelude to them signing Tarasenko

With Lohrei, Mast, Brunet coming up on D, we will be able to fully splurge next off season and focus money solely on a top 6 center . If Matthews or Aho don't resign with their team Sweeney better be involved
With #88 as a winger, I can't imagine Boston isn't a legit destination spot for Matthews, Aho, Lindholm, Schiefele or Stephenson. I'll be shocked if one of those guys aren't Bruins.

My fear is that those guys don’t make it (and they likely won’t) and neither do Scheiffle or Lindholm and the Bruins have a big bag of cash and are looking at names like a Chandler Stephenson or Jack Roslovic or Ryan Hartman.
Stephenson is a LOT BETTER than Roslovic and better than Hartman.

Yes, I do know he played wing after the Horvat trade. But why does that matter? The kid has been a center his whole life, he’s played center in the NHL his entire career save for a handful of games after they got Horvat, he played center for a team that beat the Bruins in the playoffs that had Bergeron, Krejci and Coyle, he’s a productive plus center in the regular season, he’s a productive plus center in the playoffs…. Regardless of what the Islanders do with him, he has proven he can be a prolific, play drving center in the NHL.

If we traded for him I’d have no reservations about playing him at center… if the Bruins had just picked him in 2015 this train would just keep on rolling.
He wouldn't have a 9M contract either.

A cheap Halak like goalie goes for around 3M, there is not enough of a savings there to be able to do anything significant.
I
he is 4 freakn years over and is going to want a lot more contract and he is a defensive disaster ,how soon before the fans will be calling for Sweeneys head..........
The 4 years older point is totally valid. The defensive issues and wanting to be paid
aren't killers IMO because DeBrusk is going to get surely paid and talented players like Hall and Zacha were defensive question marks and they upped their defensive games in Boston. I believe Schiefele would also. So DeBrusk for Scheifele straight up isn't
an insane trade.

Not sure I'm fully comfortable with a tandem of Sway and Bussi.
I agree and would feel safer with Ullmark\Bussi.

In a perfect world.........Bergy comes back to center line 2 with Marchy and Debrusk and we make a second move sending out some sort of return for a Sheifele/Lindholm/Byfield to play with Pasta and Zacha. That would be my dream ending to this summer.
