He was pretty good in EA NHL08...Glad you aren’t GM. Signing a 4th line past his prime vet instead of letting a kid earn that ice time is madness

I wonder if Jake would get to meet Lambert prior to the trade.
Normally that would be great but with the cap space the Bruins have that would mean they will need to move some more contract(s).
Lol wut.I am not moving DeBrusk for Scheifele straight up let alone a + whatever that might be...........
If they have to move contracts Ullmark can solve a lot of problems both cap wise and replenishing some assets
So could moving Pasta or McAvoy.
You gotta have your own the 1st rounders tooAgreed that they can’t bank on signing a big ticket UFA to save them, if one falls in their lap then great but it can’t be the only plan.
This would never actually happened, but personally id like to see them offer sheet Elias Petersson at some stupid number for one year just to get him in the org. Like literally 15mil if that’s what it takes, we can afford it next summer.
It's not under rating Scheifele, the Bruins were giving up too much it that trade proposal.Lol wut.
If your concern over Scheifele is attitude, remember Jake Debrusk basically quit on the team cause he didn't like the coach. I mean, it can't be on ice ability because it's really no contest between the two players in that department.
Maybe the trade proposal is a bit rich in quantity, but some of the responses here have been a little silly. Some of you are underrating Scheifele to an extreme.
Lol wut.

Not sure I'm fully comfortable with a tandem of Sway and Bussi. If they have to move contracts Ullmark can solve a lot of problems both cap wise and replenishing some assets
Hey I'm a Scheifele guy. I've previously mentioned that out of the rumoured available Cs, he's the only one I believed to be dynamic enough to really make an impact on line 1.Lol wut.

He quit on interviews - till he had a good game. Tried to grind it out on the iceWe all know it was more than that. And he didn't quit. He still showed up to work and played despite everything. His teammates had his back clearly.
I thought Reinhart was pretty invisible during the Panthers series.Another player that could be available is Sam Reinhart, hoenstly I would take him over Schiefele and the salary is about the same.
he is 4 freakn years over and is going to want a lot more contract and he is a defensive disaster ,how soon before the fans will be calling for Sweeneys head..........Lol wut.

Add to that he played lights-out in the second half of Bruce's last season in Boston. No quitting in sight. Just a dude who had some stuff to overcome and didn't go into a downward spiral, but instead worked through it. He struggled on the third line because he's a top 6 player who helps drive the offense. Once he was back with the kind of talent that complements his game he looked awesome. After seeing Jake be the primary driver of the first line this past season during a decent stretch I started regarding him as core. Someone I hope the Bs can re-sign when the time comes. We all know it was more than that. And he didn't quit. He still showed up to work and played despite everything. His teammates had his back clearly.
I think this is entirely fair and I'm sure a sentiment that is more common that has been stated. Not sure I'm fully comfortable with a tandem of Sway and Bussi.
A cheap Halak like goalie goes for around 3M, there is not enough of a savings there to be able to do anything significant.
This is were I'm at exactly. I too have been advocating trading Ullmark but not for the scraps some here were happy with. Certainly not for cap space alone.I think this is entirely fair and I'm sure a sentiment that is more common that has been stated.
I think we all looked at the level of goaltending that has won the last two Cups and ask whether having two guys who are better than either of them is really the most efficient use of cap space.
But who is to say that a tandem of Swayman and Bussi would even be top half in the league? Was there something in having these two guys that made each other better that you lose going to an unknown Bussi and a guy who has never been relied upon as the #1 in the NHL?
I've been in support of a goaltender trade all off-season. But I haven't been full-throated about it. Like you, I'd be hesitant. And honestly it's a toss up as to which goaltender I'd be most comfortable moving.
Well if your not doing anything significant what is the point?Who said anything about doing anything significant?
If anything it looks like the team isn’t even trying to do anything significant. They are retooling this year. They signed a bunch of guys to one year deals so their money can roll off the books at the end of the year to better set up the 2024-2025 season.
Moving ullmark would get them a good return to replenish the asset pool that hopefully can be some key pieces in going out and acquiring the future #1 center of this team.

Going with a Sway/Bussi tandem is risky. Getting a vet backup is not a significant saving over what they have presently.
If I'm going to take that chance I want something significant in return.

If we offersheeted him next offseason we it would start with our 2025 first (along with a bunch more picks), we could do it if we wanted. You gotta have your own the 1st rounders too
I'm in for that but if it was gonna happen it already would have. You originally were saying trade for cap space though.Well the significant part would be getting back draft capital or assets for Ullmark, that could then be used in a future trade.
It would also create more room to sign our RFAs if need be.
I had heard he was playing injured and then the 2nd injury shut him down.As soon as they acquired Horvat they moved Barzal to wing. You can see his FO take a HUGE dip once Horvat came to the team. How huge? He took just 2 face-offs from the time Horvat came in to the time he (Barzal) got injured. He then took zero face-offs in the playoffs.
