2023 NHL Entry Draft

I'll probably still have him in my top 5/6 when all is said and done based on upside, but Yager does give me some Turris/Glass vibes that I've yet to shake off.

Sometimes I like his IQ, sometimes I'm underwhelmed. Not sure who he is yet.

It’s likely we end up drafting a franchise or at least top-like centre this year given how many are available in the top 10. That being said, our centre depth will be pretty stacked next year with suzuki-Dach-Beck-Dvorak-Evans-Mesar. Even if if we trade Dvorak, and move Evans and Mesar to the wings, Suzuki, Dach and Beck will still be 3 out of our 4 centres. We’ll be pretty stacked down the middle and the only problem I see with that is that none of those centres are 4th liners so maybe a trade for a #1 D from our centre depth?
Yeah, thats why trading for Dach made little sense IMO. Nazar, Lekkerimaki, Kemell, heck even Bischel, Ohgren fit "better" with that.

I guess its hard to see this far out as a GM though, 12 months is a long time.

I don't think anyone has posted Fantilli's 1st career NCAA goal. Here it is:

He as 1g, 3a and 4 pts in 2gp.

here's a better view as it's longer plus had his assist (his shot was deflected in) Looked good for sure, just need that top 5 pick and we should be in very good shape for the draft.

Fantilli - 1g, 1a, 4 shots, 2 pims, Even, 12/17 FO's.

Don't count your chickens before they hatch. Too much depth at center is never a problem.

You can't go after IQ on him. His advantage is his shot, other guys have more points, but he maybe score more goals, and he is bigger than Bedard and Benson. The latter definitely have higher hockey IQ.

It’s a good problem to have. Means we can let Beck/Mesar develop.

Pretty crazy that like 4-5 guys from this draft seem NHL ready next season. Can't recall the last time that happened.

Bedard, Michkov and Carlsson will be ready nearly for sure.
Yager won't be far. Fantilli won't be far, Allen won't be far even for a D.
I agree on Michkov, but it wont happen. As of now, Id say Bedard is the only certainty.

Doesnt mean its not an amazing draft? By the way.

Please stop with the 2 side logic with Michkov. Will he be ready to play in the NHL? Yes.

No need for the "will he come? no" who cares. The question was about readiness, one can analyze that independently of other variables easily.

That’s why I phrased it that way. Also I think if Slaf is considered NHL ready Fantilli will be too.

You don't pass up on the chance at a skilled 6'4 21yr old C with top 6 upside. Unless a Caufield was still on the board.

What's the worse that can happen, get to decide who of Suzuki/Dach/2023 pick plays on the wing?

I like Dach and hes pretty much erased any doubts I had from last year, but to me hes not a more/less valuable piece than the three wingers that went after #13.

I guess theres always a Ryjo Jones moves left for us. Looking at the league Im not too sure who would fit. (Need a C+Have a D/W worthy of).

So that means we can't talk about it?

Im sorry I missed the Michkov is KHL bound deadline, when was it?

You can talk about anything you want. I'm just communicating that between US - assume I don't give a shit about speculation of where Michkov's body will be in 12 months. We need to somehow re-speculate every. single. time. Michkov' name is uttered. It's the LAW of the 2023 draft.

I'm about to template a key on my keyboard

"Michkov (WHO WON'T BE COMING)"

And the auto reply,

You said Michkov! AHHHAHHH you didn't say he won't be coming, so I need to reply and say he won't be coming.

I'm laughing out loud, this is kind of a funny post.

I like Hughes mindset of trying to acquire another 1st and having the flexibility to move up in the draft.

One of Bedard/Fantilli/Michkov/Carlsson/Yager

and

Allen

would be an absolute dream.

Yup. Core would be on the team, or in the system. Would just need a goalie.

2023 1st, Allen, Guhle, Suzuki, Caufield, Dach, Slafkovsky, Xhekaj, Mesar, Beck, Farrell & Roy. And who knows who we add with later picks in 2023.

Sick. Dreaming ....

Add Barron, Harris, Mailloux and Hutson to that list!

Hoping that Dobes continues his rapid rise.

Slaf (21) - Dach (24) - Bedard (20)
Farrell (23) - Beck (21) - Mesar (21)
