The mix of size and skill is tempting to say the least.
I haven't seen a D-year forward be as comfortable as he is in the SHL. He's on their level.

Don't forget former hab great Nick SundstromHe has a lot of games played because he played last year, so there is that.
Peter Forsberg / Markus Naslund were a bit ahead. That's it, I'm old.
There's a decent chance he will. The kid is at a different level skill wise, the WHL level was already kinda easy for him as a 16 year old. Points won't be an issue all season, the true risk is him getting complacent or even lazy.Bedard with a goal & 2 assists with a period to go. He's at 18 pts in 9 games. Can he maintain that 2 ppg pace?

Pretty sure Leo Carlsson would burn the WHL as well, kid is almost 1PPG in the SHL...Only 3 WHL players have scored above 2 ppg in their draft year since the beginning of modern draft.
1. Dale Derkatch, a 5'5 smurf who also had an October birthday (so a year older) & who never played North American professional hockey: 2.67 ppg
2. Ray Whitney: 2.57 ppg
3. Mark Recchi: 2.48 ppg
After them
4. Pavel Brendl: 1.97 ppg
5. Modanno & Fleury: 1.95 ppg
6. Sakic: 1.85 ppg
With the exception of Brendl, they all played in the WHL in the 80s.
It would be the 1st time in 23 years in WHL, and only 2nd time in approximately 35 years if Bedard keeps up a 2 ppg pace.

I love Bedard and would be ecstatic to get him, but Leo Carlsson is also an elite level talent who has the physical advantage on Bedard.
Call me crazy, but my #1 is Carlsson.
Why not both?!Carlsson is sure looking fantastic. Not ready to put him #1 quite yet. Both Carlsson & Bedard are setting standards for draft eligible players in their respective leagues.
Good thing we suck this year. Getting a top 2 pick would be unbelievable.
Wow, what a nice play!
Really impressive stickhandling at that speed, the kick of the puck up to his stick and the spatial awareness + problem solving is really interesting there. Great pass to Leonard to finish it.
I'm going to catch more of Will Smith.
He's playing lights out. I wouldn't be surprised if he keeps up the same pace. It's the first time since 2012 I'm actually watching prospects games and junior hockey (aside from the WJC), I need to catch a game of that Carlsson boy.Bedard with a goal & 2 assists with a period to go. Yea it could rival 2003 for sure .This draft is stupid stacked. Unbelievable talent. If Florida comes in around 20 there is a real chance that we could get 2 top end talents. It has 2003 potential.
Well, ok, lets just say that Carlsson is my favorite prospect of the bunch without pencilling him #1 over Bedard, thats too early anyway. Maybe Im biaised because as I grew up in my teens, Peter Forsberg was my favorite hockey player and I see alot of him in Carlsson.Carlsson is sure looking fantastic. Not ready to put him #1 quite yet. Both Carlsson & Bedard are setting standards for draft eligible players in their respective leagues.
