Thanks to everyone for their initial Top 10. Here's mine:

1.Bedard
2.Carlsson
3.Yager
4.Sale
5.Dvorsky
6.Ritchie
7.Fantilli
8.Benson
9.Gulyayev
10.Allen

I left Michkov off because of geo-political. Fantilli will go much higher if he plays center at Michigan. I see him more as a power forward.

Edit Barlow instead of Gulyayev

If you're leaving off Michkov you should leave Gulyayev off as well.

Went to HIFK vs Vaasa Sport tonight and it was a pretty brutal game for Halttunen. He took a 4 minute double minor right after HIFK took the lead 3-2 (off the subsequent neutral zone faceoff), and was then pretty responsible for Vaasa tying the game 3-3. Didn't see a second of icetime after that.

Bedard scored hat trick other night, turned defenseman inside out. Hope Habs do everything in their power to get this guy. Going to be special player

He's been hurting his stock since the Hlinka, imo.

Hypothetically speaking we have the 2nd pick…. If Dach can show us this year that he can be a legit 2C…. Will you be willing to draft a winger (Michkov,Sale) over a C ?

Sigh Button

What has Dach shown? Has he shown hes a 40-50 pts c? Has he shown hes a legit top 30-40 c?

Unless my top 6 center production exceeds 120 points, I am drafting Carlson or Bedard.

I totally agree with you. Since hes been in the league , he didnt show us that he have the potential to be a top 30-40 c , but I said “IF” he show us this year that he have what it take to be a 2C…. Hypothetically speaking if Carlson and Bedard are not available, would you take one of Michkov or Sale over Fatillini, Yager, Dvorsky etc .?

Im sorry, I meant in your scenario, what has he shown us.

Well let’s say he put up 50 pts this year without an elite winger & increasing his face off close to 40% 45% (as much as I like him I dont think that both of my statements will happen). Being reliable offensively and defensively, at 22(in January).

I think thats borderline 2C territory. Its about what Dvorak is giving us. Would you pass on Carlsson/Bedard with a duo of Suzuki/Dvorak ?

I think the answer writes itself. Unless Suzuki becomes a 90 points C, Im drafting a C and I hope he's better than Suzuki, that makes the Habs contenders 100% sure.

At 22* that would be his first 50pts season, wich mean that he could reach 70-80 pts in his prime with a Michkov or a Sale but I hear you and youre right

Well, if at the end of the year, Dach makes us believe he can be an Eighty points center, thats different and maybe we consider Michkov then.

I must say that I have Michkov and Carlsson very close right now, and that he'd 100% be the pick at 3 in any situation.

Nice to see the draft actually look better and better as time passes. Never even heard of this Sale guy and looks amazing even if he's not consensus #2. Good year to suck.

Dach's next season wouldn't affect my decision to draft a C as BPA in 2023.
But it would potentially impact how good of a D we can trade for with Dach, in two summers.
Dach+ for best D and UFA PLD for free is good asset management unless Dach somehow hits a dominant 60pts+ pace.
Our C line might be Suzuki, PLD, Bedard/Fantilli/Carlsson/Yager/Dvorsky. o_O

I tried to tell some people last year that even if we pick top 8 this year, we're likely to get a better player than whoever we could have picked at 1 last year, whether you are cult Wright, Slaf, Nemec or Cooley.

The crown jewel of our rebuild is going to be acquired in the top 10 of this draft. Slafkovsky with the right development is going to be adding a complementary element to the 2023 pick, Caufield, Suzuki, Dach and whoever shows up out of the other prospects like Beck, Roy, Farrell, etc.
