Why would he be high? Hes older, bigger and has done nothing so far to up his stock. We can only go off what weve seen in the past few months.
He was talk about being in the top 3 all year and he didn't even start the season yet. Not saying you guys are wrong, just curious to know why he seem to slip

Ive had Carlsson above him for months, personally.

I think he may be the case of a guy peaking very early, he looks 25 and played in the USHL. With what I know today, that's how it goes. Might change ( will change) during the year.

I agree that Carlsson have a lot of qualities that I'm looking for with a #1 C. There progression will be fun to watch for sure

The difference I see thus far between my list and others:

I value Yager more than most, it's been like this for over 7-8 months. I think Yager's mix of speed, skill, and shooting will transpose exceptionally well to the NHL. While he doesn't fill the stage with highlight reals plays, he's efficient at a level that I don't see Carlsson or Fantilli reach. He's there every game, we saw this at Hlinka as well. I expect Yager to make the December WJC team as a 17 year old.

I rank Carlsson ahead of Fantilli: Carlsson's IQ progress is too impressive in the big picture - and Fantilli doesn't have a speed or size advantage.

I rank Allen a bit higher, I think he's a stud, too much compete to fail - these guys transpose extremely well in the NHL. (Look at Schneider vs. our Guhle...)

Allen to me complete the "group of 6" as I call them, who are nearly NHL players already, Bedard and Michkov are probably already very productive ones.

Then I have this group of guys with elite ceiling but clear things to work on: Dvorsky, Benson needs to get faster, Sale needs more strength to be a top 10 this year (to beat Stramel, Stenberg, Wood etc.), Ritchie needs to position himself better.
Just curious on the Schneider vs Guhle comment, is that saying Schneider’s competitiveness is higher than Guhle’s and is why he’s on the Rangers already? Or is it more than just compete level

Nice. That clip shows that the kid really, really wants to make a difference offensively. Extremely aggressive and confident. He's a horse that wants to run, just have to reign him in a little bit.
He hasn't missed a step since the Hlinka/Gretzky - he's just on a really solid trajectory right now

He definitely caught my eyes at the Hlinka.. I remember doing a research to find out who that #4 was

Yep, Schneider compete was higher than Guhle at draft time, the Habs picked the player that could be better when they will both be 25 (fair enough). But I've always known Schneider would make the NHL very early, he's just too intense not to.

I always listen to parts of tournaments with my eyes closed to hear whose names are mentioned all the time (call it the Sergio Momesso test). Looks like he's a top 20 pick at least.
