I think their drafting history kind of indicates the type of players they want. Again, nobody in their right mind would have Soderstrom at 3rd OA as they did, but that's a player that fills a need and is probably fine with staying there.
Not that Konecny is a pushover or anything, but Leonard's already a bigger guy and has an integral power element to his game that Konecny just doesn't.

Leo Carlsson may just be the most creative player in the draft, the fact he didnt get to flex on nerds at the u18s shouldn't change that.
I made the same comparison earlier this week. Their skillsets are very similar. Leonard might have a bit more offensive upside, but so does Konecny at this point...the flyers are just a shitty team.
In every scenario, Michkov is the wildcard. Everything hinges on what teams, including us, decide regarding drafting Michkov or not.
He played in some Russia vs Belarus game earlier this week or last week and had a goal I believe .
Yeah it's a very weird system. Bedard being rated 10/10 for "goal scorer" and Fantilli/Leonard/Smith/Benson/Barlow all being rated 9/10 doesn't really capture the gap in goal scoring/shooting ability there.
Not to mention he has Michkov at 8/10 for goal scoring. No offense to those guys at 9/10, but I'm pretty sure Michkov has a better shot than all of them.
Thought the same. To be fair though, Bedard's goalscoring is at 10/10, which is way more valuable than most of the other categories.
Not to mention all those guys rated at 9 being above Michkov. Even Perrault he has as a better goalscorer than Michkov. I think it's safe to throw this one out lol
