I think Reinbacher is a more offensively polished Guhle (in his draft year).

Guhle might have a bit more upside but I think it’s damn close. Can’t discount him being close to josi’s ppg.

Him being polished could hurt his ultimate upside because you don’t know how much room there is for improvement. But that’s obviously a bit of a half truth. Definitely bodes we’ll for his floor though.

I think he’s my guy. He’s a safe pick but still high upside. I think people are turned off by the lack of flash which sometimes gets confused with upside. I think he’s just very efficient which is great for his offence translating.
His offensive upside is that of a 1D, classic style. Pietrangelo, Doughty style.

Love Price but I still wish it was Kopitar. Your best player being a goalie is beyond lame. Also incredibly bad team building.
That isn't his fault. It's the teams fault for not following up. Price didn't even come into the league until 2 years later. That's two wasted years of potential top 10 picks. And many years after that. Price is a better player than Kopitar. Kopitar had never even been a top 5 forward in the league at one point in time. Price is a generational talent. What the team did after he was drafted has nothing to do with the pick itself. So I still disagree with you

Any slight against Pricerstopsdapuck and its on sight for me.

Not on my watch. None of that beta goaltender shit.

We should have traded the #1 pick for that guy.
Agreed.

Trade it until we get all the 7th rounders. 🤣

To everyone.

Habs stay 5th. Your top 4 are gone. Whichever team is 7th offers a 2nd round pick to move back. It's around 45th (let's just say this is all true) do you move back for that extra pick, or whomever you want at 5th is better than who you have at 6th/7th

No rrasons at all to go for But at 17, hes so far out talent wise. A guy like Halttunen is gonna be available for sure in the 2nd round and his package is just as intriguing.

A sub PPG season in the MHL should never, absolutely never get you drafted in the top 20.
Well it's a good thing he wasn't sub PPG then.

But reminds me a lot of a young Blake Wheeler, he'll be interesting to watch develop.

No moments of Prices output for this team sucked. He was just managed by the worst f***ing R word in the league.

People get that shit twisted. We had the best player in the league, come on.

So far, Prices output during his career has been superior to even Mcdavid.

Lol, no we didn't. Cheering for a team that has overinvested in goaltending has just given you brain worms. Goalies aren't players.

He’ll be gone start of the 2nd round.

Early second round seems reasonable but I could also see him creep into the late first. He has an enticing skillset and so many tools to work with. There are not many 6'5 guys with this kind of mitts and such a sublime passing game. The only weaknesses I could find were his shot which clearly lacks precision and his balance. He is still growing into his body.

While But is more of a finesse player at this stage, Halttunen has the clear profile as a power forward, often playing with brute force. His shot is better than But's for sure, and he is a fine prospect, but I don't like his Hockey IQ.

What's the explanation for his weak production?

The problem was far from taking Price at the place of Kopitar, that was the good pick. The problem was not surround him, even Crosby/Ovie/McDavid need to be surrounded

The problem is taking Kostitsyn before Getzlaf or Fisher before Giroux.

Doubt he's on the board when the Habs pick - unless they win the lottery
If we win the lottery, I don’t believe we are selecting Smith.

But if Habs are super high on him, or see him as equal value to Carlson and Fantilli, and they hypothetically win #2, they could trade back to 4 for an extra few picks (pair of 2nds)…..now you’ve just acquired 2 extra second rounders and assure yourself of a Fantilli, Carlson or Smith.

Makes for great debate….can’t wait for May 8th so we can speculate on actual draft position.

Of course Price was a fantastic pick. I'm just saying if we're gonna have one single top 5 pick hit in my life I wish it wasnt a goalie.

If we pick 5th, the Panthers lose and we pick 17th.....Does our 5th and 17th picks get us #2 overall? If we have to add, who would we need to include? Is it even worth it because we still have many holes.
