People comparing Reinbacher to Guhle like it's a bad thing. What he did this season as a rookie playing top D minutes was unbelievable and he looks like the real deal.

The fact he has similar qualities to Seider makes me go Hnnnng.

As someone who wanted Jiricek badly last season (yes I had Wright 1OV), going with Reinbacher this year would make me extremely happy.

I have no idea how people don't see his potential. I think it's just because we've been craving for a top end forward for a long time.
I’ve tried to make it clear that Guhle is a great player and someone Reinbacher should be pleased to be comped to.

Whats the disconnect? Hes producing in pro ways lol, youd want him to produce like Smith? Doodle around the zone and deke everyone including the refs to score?
How is he generating offense? I agree he is a efficient passer, but he isn’t creating offense, is offense will translate but throwing the puck on net with someone banging in the Rebound or passing to someone that then make a great play to score or setup someone else… If he had half the production would we think that he is just unlucky and should have more pts?

He generates offense like literally all the elite Ds in the NHL save for Makar, Burns and Karlsson, lol.

There aren’t many reporters closer to the team that they cover than Aaron Portzline. He pretty much breaks everything Blue Jackets related. I can’t believe someone would say the opposite.

LOL.....Because you would know this from your extensive following and knowledge of the Columbus Blue Jackets. You actually believe that Jarmo Kekalainen would allow his scouts to divulge proprietary information to the media that would do nothing but put Columbus at a disadvantage.

This is just classic delusional fan perspective on display.

You are so obsessed with arguing with me that you are entirely fabricating things to support your agenda. Try debating my opinion with actual facts in the future.

Take it from this Columbus fan: Porty doesn’t know anything special and has basically never broken a story in his life. He gets scooped by national writers on the reg. Hedger is the one who might break something, or possibly Svoboda but he’s an NHL.com writer so he’s limited to team-approved lines.

Kakko looks like a bust.

The point here is that Seider was a fantastic talent with fantastic traits. He didn’t simply develop his hands and playmaking ability post draft. Those traits were part of the equation of him going 6th

Kakko is definitely not a bust. Kid had 18g, 40 pts this season while playing 3rd line, kid line duties. He just turned 22. He's really solid at both ends of the ice & is a fierce forechecker.

There’s a wannabe scout that I see all the time on Twitter (I don’t even follow him, f***in’ Elon), Daniel Ferland, that believes this draft is highly overrated. That after the top 4, it’s not as good as they say (he proclaims he saw all of them play a lot). Those who have followed these prospects, what is your opinion on this guy’s evaluation?
I think he is right. At the start of the year guys like Yager, Salé were seen as potential 1st liners or even star level material, what is obviously not the case, after the top 4, you have Reinbacher who I really like, after that I dont see any lock to become 1st liners or star material, mostly top 6 with question marks. I think the guy you pick at 18 OV might end up just as good or even better than the guy you pick at 6 or 7. Thats where the floor becomes an important factor to considere IMO.

Smith, Benson and Reinbacher are strong prospect for the 5-7 spots vs other years

Should have taken him/Kulich over Mesar.

I remember a lot of people on this board wanting Firkus at this pick (Mrb1p being the most vocal one). However I'm not shy to say I had Mesar 1-2 spots ahead and was very happy with the pick at the time. Let's wait and see

Calum Ritchie at #17?
Count me in, I like him a lot

Would taking But at 17 be an option ? I know McCagg likes him, but just wondering what others think who may have seen him
Could be. I said it before, but I thinks he shares a lot of strenght/weaknesses with Dach in his DY, to a lesser extent. I think there's a path for him to become what Dach currently is as his ceiling, meaning he could be a great fit on the wing in our top 6 eventually. Not sure he would be BPA at 17 though

Good post. Reinbacher would be the perfect partner for one of our more offensive D's like Hutson Engstrom or even Guhle and Matheson. No need to have 2 puck carrier in a D pair and he'd complement our current prospect pool very well.

He's the safest pick outside the top 4 imho. Solids stats too, better than Josi...

To me it's him or Michkov. The other fowards outside the top 3 don't bring enough superstar powder to tip the scale. Slaf Mesar Beck Roy Kidney Heineman Farell are all great prospects who will need opportunity to play top 6 minutes someday. Once Dubois signs there really ain't many spots left...

Benson backhand sauce to Savoie puts Winnipeg up 3-2 with under 5 to go.

Steals the puck for an empty netter as well. Back to Moose Jaw for game 6 Monday.
Good game from Benson, doesn't seem like he's missed a beat since coming back. I hope the Warriors come back guns blazing next game.
