hockey30 is Marinano's source lol
Your list has more than tripled from a week ago!![]()
Regardless of the whole Marinaro/Portzline nonsense, it is true Bobrov has serious connections with SKA and hopefully would give the Habs the ability to seriously vet the situation. Honestly as far as I'm concerned, unless we win the lottery Michkov is the best case scenario. To this point there isn't enough evidence to suggest it will be impossible to get Russian players out of Russia, I imagine the front office will certainly do their due diligence on it and if we pass, so be it, I would assume they decided there was too much risk involved.
But man, if we grab Michkov, trade for Dubois, and then pick up a RHD next draft, we are off to the races.
Slafkovsky - Suzuki - Caufield
Dach - Dubois - Michkov
D core consisting of some combo of Guhle/Matheson/Barron/Hutson/Xhekaj/Mailloux/2024 1st
Not to mention all the other prospects we have, as well as our future 1sts/CGY 1st, free agent signings/trades/etc. Hard not to get excited about that scenario imo
Not saying that. It’s the liberal left wing media that will make it look bad and after the Mailloux situation that the media blew up, I’m sure Molson doesn’t want to go down that road again even if this is somewhat different. I love Russians I think they are great people and I also think we should pick Michkov. However, I see it being highly unlikely due to Molson most likely wanting to protect himself from another media outrage.Mailloux and Michkov have nothing to do with each other... If teams pass on Russian players it will be because they are worried about getting them into the NHL, not because they think they are "bad" people. C'mon now.
Not sure how this works in the NCAA but is Smith commited to play 3 years with Boston ?
Same with Hutson ?
exp : Smith is commited but not Fantilli ??NCAA guys can leave after 1 year if they are good enough, the decision is on the player. Universities have no contractual rights and can't keep players against their will
exp : Smith is commited but not Fantilli ??
Dvorsky.. I don't see much.
I kind of see Jason Spezza. Is Ales Hemsky an apt comparison for Smith? That's personally what I see in my limited viewings.
noAndrew Cristall has tremendous amounts of skill.
Should we maybe take him at 5-7?
What a fantastic comparison. I see it nowI kind of see Jason Spezza.
They're quite a far cry in height and weight. 6'3, 220lbs is a big boy, but I can see some similarities in their play style and puck handling. Not sure Smith's physical skills will translate in the NHL as well as Spezza's.I kind of see Jason Spezza.

His IQ makes him greater than the sum of his parts. Tools vs toolbox and all that jazz.I think it’s how fast he plays. He’s not the fastest guy in a full on race, but his play speed is very high. Most guys kind of coast around, while Benson is always on the move. It’s the hockey IQ that allows him to play fast as he just sees things quicker than anyone else. Definitely a fun player to watch because of that. I would not be mad if he were our pick.
That's because he did say it on his podcast.Notice Porzline doesn't deny the part about the Blue Jackets taking Smith at 4th OA
