On a positive note: there is so much talent in this draft that there are so many combination of two players that will satisfy ke. I think everyone should have a similar stance.

Sure some might not like Reinbacher at 5-6 or Benson or Dvorsky or whatever, but can we really complain if we end up with a combo like:

Reinbacher-Lardis;
Benson-Wood;
Dvorsky-Yager;
Smith-Danielson;
Leonard-Cristall;

or whatever really!

Thats the beauty of having two picks in the top 20 this year.

You previously said : " The ONLY winger I take before a 2D is a Superstar like Ovy", non-sense. Now you say you take a 1stud Defenseman over a starwinger, make sense. I totally agree with your second statement bro, just not the first one!
Yes I stand by what I say and you agree with me a top 2D over a top 3 winger who is not a superstar no ?

I take a Panarin or Marner over a 2nd defenseman (Pesce) anyday of the week. Do I also take a Hedman before a Rantanen? yea. Like I said, you made two different statements. I don't think Reinbacher has Heiskanen, Makar or Hedman (1D) upside. I do think Benson has Marner upside, if everything goes right. So I take the one with the highest ceilling. To me, Reinbacher is a safe pick and I want the Habs to go for the homerun. We lack game changer skills up front.

Let's just hope Florida don't go into a deep run in the playoffs! Two top15 pick would have been awesome.

Ok so that s where we disagree I think Reinbacher could be a legit top pair D, i.e. Heiskanen upside and Benson has Marner upside hence my choice.

All good, it was just weird the first time you wrote it, that you only take a generational superstar like Ovy before a 2D. Heisanen, Makar, Hedman are all number 1 stud defenseman.

Reinbacher is extremely overrated. He is not THAT good defensively and his offense is non-existent aside from good shot. If you want 4th defenseman in the best case possible scenario, go ahead and draft him. I would rather take Pelikka who has significantly better offensive game and top 4 upside.

ASP is sliding down draft boards.

I’d take Daniil But with Florida’s pick and be VERY happy. If he doesn’t get picked before.

Not every year that you can do a Dach type trade. Not sure the pick will be high enough.

At Florida range... I would take between Wood, Honzek, Musty, But, Danielson and if he is there... Heidt. No doubt about that.

Every scenario who can acquire Dubois right now, will be huge for the future of this team. Again, Dubois isn't Bedard, but Dubois is a really good player. Suzuki, Caufield, Dach, Dubois and Slafkovsky. Potentially to become a really fun top 6 for many years to come. If Habs can draft Smith or Benson aswell, that will be set that. After that top 6, Habs have already great prospects to be really good on bottom 6 like Beck, Heineman, Farrell, Mesar, Roy, Rohrer, Kapanen, Kidney and more.

If Habs can move up and draft Reinbacher, the defensive group will be set aswell for many years to come.

After that... only G need to be fix. (Dobes looks very promising).
Reinbacher would really solidy the D core

With Guhle, Xhekaj as the cornerstones, Barron and Harris as a supporting cast, Matheson as the general….my god, let those kids log in another 2yrs of experience and then add Mailloux, Engstrom, Hutson and Reinbacher as your up and comers and that is the making of something special

I don't think so.

It's short sighted.

We aren't in WIN-NOW mode by any means.

PLD is young yes but he will still be 25 next season. Is he even THAT good? Does he have a ton of character and have what we need to win in the PLAYOFFS?

Getting PLD shifts us into WIN SOON mode, instead of the concrete rebuilding we are doing now.

There will be a ton of great talent available with FLA pick, and that talent will be very inexpensive to us for the next several years..... don't forget about that as well.

Don't think Dubois makes Montreal win now in any stretch. Especially with the pick now likely in late teens. He'd just be a core piece that hopefully Habs can draft will enough to help.

Win soon IMO means there are only few holes or most players are done developing (Sabres are closing into that phase)

With Dubois/Reinbacher, the Habs u25 group looks pretty stable to build on IMO.

Suzuki/Caufield
Dubois/Dach
Slaf
Guhle/Harris/Xhekaj
Reinbacher/Barron/Mailloux

#6 = Dvorsky (Safe bet)
#18 = Pellikka (great puck mover RHD)

I would be happy with that.

If we are actually making the selection, I’d take Yager, Wood or Honzek in that order

If Yager is there... that would be a very huge steal to me. He need to be taken in top 12, if not... every teams will be happy to grab that type of player after top 12. He is one of my favorite player in this draft!

I would be very, very disapointed.
As would I but realistically, I'd be disappointed no matter what if we don't get one of the top 4 guys. It's not the Habs fault or anything (at least to an extent), but 2 years of misery to come out with Slafkovsky and a guy like Dvorsky with our top picks would be discouraging. You'd expect at least one superstar type player.
