I agree it would be a great fit. I like Dach as a winger, and that line would be hell on the forecheck. 3 big boys with strength and skill. Makes me think back to the Legion of Doom line in Philly when I was a kid.
Besides his elite shot, Dvorskys face off skills would be helpful, as would his defensive awareness. And he and Dach could rotate at center. All three bring size, can move and have high end skill sets. Would be a heck of a line.

Picking 5th would be nice. Even if you’re missing out on the big 4, you’ll have first dibs on the top riser. Someone is going to rise big time, happens every year.

Dvorsky would fit great with Dach and Slaf, I can’t imagine how anyone can argue otherwise with a straight face.
Don’t know why you’re looking to die on the hill of Dvorsky being the ideal linemate for those two.

I always thought Dvorsky would be a great linemate with Slaf and Mesar. Obviously the Slovakian connection, but three styles that fit great together. Mesar having the speed. Dach plays the same position as Dvorsky and doesn’t bring the speed element of Mesar. You basically have three big guys who don’t cycle the puck much. They are just going to get in each other’s way.

Regressing in point equivalency isn’t a good sign in a draft year. I like Sale, but not in the top 10.

Martineau reporting that Habs may have interest in Braden Yager.

Paraphrasing: "Unlike other prospects in Yager's draft year who only got either text messages are not contacted by the Habs at all, where as Yager had a phone call with Ben Shutro, who's the WHL scout for the Habs."

Yager also mentioned in the interview that he compares himself to Nathan McKinnon's style of play and that he looks up to Bergeron and Toews on how they play a 2-way game.

At this point, I wouldn't want him with the 1st-rounder, but if we're not getting PLD, then Yager with the Florida 1st would be awesome.

I need to watch him some more but right now I want to know nothing of him anywhere inside top 10

While I can't see us taking But over Michkov or in the top-10 at all, Grant is usually pretty good at calling late risers. I'm thinking But definitely goes top-15 even if it isn't the Habs who pick him.

Some interesting finagling we could with our 2 1sts and early 2nd is try and draft the entire USDP top line. Their chemistry is great.

Smith with our pick, Leonard with the Florida pick, and trade up with our 2nd to get Perreault.

Personality wise, Yager is the exact kind of guy Hughes and Gorton fall in love with

I'm impressed with his maturity and excitement but also scared that we might draft him now

You’re not getting him with the Florida pick. You have to take him Top 10. And I could see an argument for it considering the tools he has. Great shot, speed and compete is a nice foundation to work with.

How would you compare him to Robbie Thomas?

If you're sitting at the 8th spot, Yager needs to be an option for you. I can see the potential in him to become a Brayden Point type of player.

We are also officially guaranteed a top-9 pick now, soon to be top-8 if Philly win a game.

Looking at my top-10 list i can live with that

Robert Thomas wasn’t as good of a skater. Also more of a playmaker than a shooter. I wouldn’t really compare the two. Yager is like Hoffman but not as dumb.

Hoff used to be a good skater? That is one of his biggest weaknesses now, along with compete, not sure I follow the comparison

I don't see at all the comparison with Hoffman. Yager's skating is much better, as is his compete level, and the improvement in his playmaking would make me say that he's more capable in that department than Hoffman. Granted, we've seen Hoffman on the back 9 of his career. He was much better in Ottawa. But I just don't see the stylistic comparison.

Don't really see that comparison.
He skates fast in straight lines and can snipe but not much else.
Point is much more high IQ and well rounded.
