The way I see it is that you want to get the player with the biggest impact. Whatever the position... having said that I am not sold on Benson or Smith having a bigger impact than Reimbacher... but that's just me. Things are going to become more clear when we see some of these guys go head to head at the U18's

How would it be? Dubois is likely to be better than anyone we are gonna pick if we don't win the lottery, so getting him with a mid 1st and some other stuff is just good business

Mind you I'd be opposed to trade a top 12 or so pick at draft day at 14-15, I trade it for Dubois

I'd also trade it if we win lotto

If we draft 6-8 and that pick is 10-13 I'd keep it

If Habs go for Reinbacher at say, 7, how about a deal with the Fla pick to get someone like Yager at 9 or 10? ( if that Fla pick is 13-14)

It would cost our 2nd and we need that to take a goalie, so I'd just move it for Dubois or select whoever is there.

No ressons too. 7-17 is very similar.

It would cost our 2nd and we need that to take a goalie, so I'd just move it for Dubois or select whoever is there.

If Florida pick is the main piece to get Dubois, I would do it in a nanosecond.

Agree, but Brandon is usually really bad in front of him.

Taking him with Florida’s pick is a bad idea for everyone involved and that was what I objected to.

It’s bad for the goalie, bad for the team and bad for the fans. There’s so much pressure on a goalie, especially here in Montreal and just adding a double heaping of expectations on top of it is just looking for trouble.

I think the goal would be to take him with our 2nd round pick that is gonna be in the 37-40 range. Could even trade up with the ton of pick we have

We will have to.. if Hughes isn't getting a 3rd 1st for Anderson or Edmundson at the draft, he'll need to package some picks with his 2nd to jump up and secure Bjarnason, Fowler or Hrabal.

I do think that one of Hrabal/Bjarnasson (I have them higher then Fowler) gonna drop to our pick.

I'm not so sure.. I think a lot of organizations see what I see, that the goalie position sucks right now and last year's draft did nothing to supplement their systems, so they will value them more highly than in the past. Once we get into the 20s, bets are off.

We will need to be proactive for sure when the 1st goalie will be draft.

Yup.. the good news is there is at least a couple fall back options in Gajan and Clara should things really go off the rails for us.

I'm not really interested in investing in Augustine, Ratzlaff/Milic as our goalie of the draft. I think all 3 have severe limitations that will prevent them from really being a #1

I like Gajan but Carson Bjarnssom is the one that I target. Really like what I see from him and I hope we can see him be the starter for Canada at the U18.

I like Bjarnason the best and have moved Fowler ahead of Hrabal lately.

I really liked Fowler coming out of last year and he started shaky, but now he's really coming on.

Surprised Beau Akey is not moving up in rankings, seems like he's been progressing all year, with good offensive numbers to boot. What am I missing? I feel he should be considered as soon as late 1st round.

Also, Matthew Mania is one hell of a name.

Surprised Beau Akey is not moving up in rankings, seems like he's been progressing all year, with good offensive numbers to boot. What am I missing? I feel he should be considered as soon as late 1st round.

I have him at 33 right now so I expect we can hear his name called anywhere between the late 1st and mid 2nd.
