I can live with being at 7th or even 8th (Moore or Leonard)...

They are really really good players

We'd be lucky to add one of these players.

100%, they are on my wishlist if Habs pick 7 or 8. They are very very good! I would be very pleased with one of them.

Even if Barlow is already a made man , he has a wicked release that is great even by nhl standards no ?
He’s not the type of player you build around, but he’s certainly a great complimentary piece. If they think Dach is scratching the surface of his true potential and can be a great centre moving forward, then Barlow would be a good option. There are other players I’d take before him, but I don’t think his becoming a man early means he’s going to plateau early. Look at Tkachuk.

That's the thing is that I don't think his release and shot is elite in the NHL. It's above average and he needs players to get him the puck. Best case scenario he could be a scorer like Pacioretty but if not then he will fluctuate between 20-30 goals depending on his line.

He's a good player I'd just be a little bummed if that was the crown jewel of our 2023 draft. I like Leonard more because he's shown more of a propensity to create his own shot.

I like the overall vibe of this list, it seems plausible.

I dont think Arizona passes on Smith for anyone outside Fantili, Carlsson and Bedard.

Im more than fine with Benson though.

I could see GMs falling in love with Barlow enough to take him prematurely ala Cutter Gauthier last year.

Specially when the forwards with size drop off after 4-5

But what if he's there with the FLA pick once we draft let's say Benson first?

Benson-Suzuki-Slafkovski
Caufield-Dach-Barlow

Add maybe Dubois + Farrell + Roy + Beck + Heineman + RHP and Kidney and that offence is pretty good no?
