Just took a look at the KHL standings and the team Michkov's on loan to has 5 wins in 45 games lol.
I wonder if there's any chance he makes a break for it after the draft.

Really interested to see how far Michkov drops. There are some very bad teams near the bottom of the standings with very bad prospect pools, these teams likely want to play it safer rather than taking a risk with Michkov which could make him drop further.

If he falls out of the top 5 and we can somehow have a chance to take him with Florida's pick that would be insane.

Best case, we add a guy who can have a Kaprizov-like impact in 3 years when we are ready to contend. Worst case, he never comes over and adds as much value to our organization as a Bergevin-era top 3 pick did.
I could see him dropping a few spots, all things considered.

It would be nice to walk away with both Michkov (5/6) and Dvorsky (8/9).

Caufield / NS / Dach
Slaf / Dvorsky / Michkov

This is how I look at it. The impact of Michkov when he comes over. You’re not wasting his ELC years for him to develop. You get a product that’s going to have an instant impact in 2-3 years on a cheap contract. Could really propel the team at a time with Cole, Guhle and Slafkovsky having multiple years of experience.

All right, I was being sarcastic, we should move on loll. All I said was that I liked Fantilli's skating better than Carlsson's. Debate still out for me in terms of Fantilli vs Carlsson. Someone asked about Carlsson's skating, I only replied I prefer Fantilli's lol
But whats the link? If someone says they like Carlssons shot, do you reply with "I like Bedards shot better"?

That's what is great with that draft, if we don't get 1st overall (let's be real, we probably won't end up last this season, and winning the lottery 2 years in a row ?), there's plenty of high upside kids after Bedard, and high upside projects later in the 1st and in the 2nd round.

And about Cristall, not saying he's alone in Kelowna, but damn he's head and shoulders above the rest of his team.

Cristall has definitely announced to me he's unequivocally better than Dvorsky.

May be just me, and I know he's young, but I honestly don't like Dvorsky skating, he has good hands, a seemingly good shot and looks strong on his feet, his skating, overall, is very average. Wouldn't mind him drafted by us at all, but I hope they hire a skating coach for him if that's the case.

Cristall isn't very big, but the fact he contributes that much on a 'meh' team in Kelowna is something else. Saw some people say he isn't good defensively, I know I don't give a crap about that when a kid is that good offensively, he can work on that anyway.

Last New Years before Russia screwed themselves out of International competitions, Michkov had the same elite look, feel and hype to his game that Bedard did. It was the last time that I had a chance to really watch his game. Now it's just highlights. Based off that small sample in 2 games last year, and the highlights I have seen this year, Michkov for me is the clear #2. Sure....there are all kinds of uncertainties with him, but if the Habs are picking 2, I would be all over picking him at this point. He is the closest player to Bedard in this draft, just how close is difficult to decipher.

Bedard is light years ahead of Carlsson and Fantilli who I would place as the next two of the big four.

One other thing on Bedard. The best thing I like about him, is he still looks like a kid and has some growing/strength to improve on. So many kids and teens have that elite look by growing at a faster rate than their peers. Often we get all jacked about players, but they simply have just matured faster, and when their peers catch up, they all of the sudden don't look so elite. There are countless examples of that on these boards. Bedard is doing what he is doing, while looking like the youngest kid of the tournament. Fantilli looks about 19. Bedard is going to be something special.
