You should, Brindley is smaller and plays much bigger. The way a kid handle himself physically is part of the evaluation, you want to see a high compete level and a willingness to win his puck battles. Cooley is another good example, not the biggest center, but battles really hard all over the ice.

I'm not saying I'm running around blindfolded. But these young players typically gain 10 pounds the summer after their draft and then suddenly they look totally different at their next WJC. I don't think Sale is really shying away from it, he's just losing the strength battles, expected. I mean when you look at Carlsson/Fantilli, these guys are in the 0.1% of humans for size/strength at their age - you have to keep that in mind when they are establishing the standard.

No debate for me. Stramel doesn't have any special tools for me offensively. I'd rather gamble on Wood.

Sova sucked so hard last year I'd be Dubious picking him at all.

Musty is more interesting.

Sova going undrafted was silly, IMO.

Brain dead as a player. Hated his IQ. But yeah someone shittier than him Def got picked..

If you could give Musty either of those players brain, definitely.

I thought Dvorsky had a very strong game tonight vs Canada. He won a lot of key face-offs and plays a very smart game. Not sure about his offensive upside but he should be a solid 2nd or 3rd line center in the NHL for many years. He'll be a star in the WJC tournament next year if he's available to Slovakia.

As much as I can't wait for the lottery, I know my heart will be broken when we do not win it.
Obviously Bedard is the golden goose, but even if we don't win the lottery this draft has significant potential to set us up for long term success.

I'd argue our 3 most important players are Suzuki(drafted 13th), Caufield(drafted 15th) and Guhle(drafted 16th).
Apparently this draft is supposed to be the deepest in a long time and we're likely going to have 2 picks inside or around the top 10. If the scouting team doesn't f*** this up then we should end up walking away with 2 core guys even if we don't get Bedard.

Oh yeah, I'm already happy we will get two great picks in a great draft. But being this close to that kind of player would pinch a little more than if we picked solely in the 10's.

How does the draft look this year for goalies?

Gajan and Milic have both looked good. Who else is there?

That is not what will happen : MTL will win the lottery, then HuGo will select Fantili because to quote the video they ll release afterwards, it is amazing what he has done against older players in NCAA and drafting a big guy now allows you to draft the 5‘6 player you want in round 3 ;)

Hockey historians have never seen an Italian stallion like that

Compared to 2022 it has a stronger top 5-10, but after that I wouldn't call it deeper.

It has more centers and goalies thought, last year was mostly undersized forwards and dmen.

After a lot of consideration, I have Bedard ranked #1 for next draft.

Took you long enough! *winks

We won't be in the 10s with this team with at least 1 pick. And Florida could start selling too.

Really interested to see how far Michkov drops. There are some very bad teams near the bottom of the standings with very bad prospect pools, these teams likely want to play it safer rather than taking a risk with Michkov which could make him drop further.

If he falls out of the top 5 and we can somehow have a chance to take him with Florida's pick that would be insane.

Best case, we add a guy who can have a Kaprizov-like impact in 3 years when we are ready to contend. Worst case, he never comes over and adds as much value to our organization as a Bergevin-era top 3 pick did.
