Also staggers their ELC giving tons of flexibility for future contract negotiationsWe won’t win the cup in the next 3-5 yrs…
Michkov would arrive when the team will be ready to compete and would be a huge boost

Lol ok. Then there’s also a chance that there was a lottery error in McDavid’s draft and the league will decide that next year we’ll get him too to correct that.Stop ruining our fun!!!!![]()
Unless the Michkov situation is a complete shit show and he doesn't even express any interest in coming here, this is easily Bedard and Michkov.Oh Man this sets us up for the next 15 years!!

Who do you draft?
Bedard and Mishkov?
Bedard and Fantilli?
Bedard and best defenseman?
Yes but by the time he arrive will have to pay every else so you might have to make some choices.. If we draft Bedard we have to aim to win a cup in the first 3 seasons when he is under is ELC. if Mishkov is better, Fantilli is still a above avg top propect+ he bring size and more than enough skill to be a great complementary player. If we already have CC, Suzuki and Bedard you have enough skills especially if your complementary player were all pick top 3 in Slaf, Fantilli and Dach. The more skill you can inject at the same time the better. We won’t win the cup in the next 3-5 yrs…

I hear you... but Mishkov is 150lbs and a RW to bootUnless the Michkov situation is a complete shit show and he doesn't even express any interest in coming here, this is easily Bedard and Michkov.
When he will arrive he will be on his ELC so we will save money there. Michkov is closer of Bedard then he is on FantelliYes but by the time he arrive will have to pay every else so you might have to make some choices.. Get the high end talent first at then worry about the "size" issue. Michkov is on par with Bedard who is better than all the other forwards there. When he comes here in 3 years, he won't be 150 lbs.I hear you... but Mishkov is 150lbs and a RW to boot
I mean we already have CC as a featherweight.
Isn't that a problem come playoff time?
Also can Slaf play offwing? Do we want CC or Mishkov to play offwing?
Dach - Suzuki - Caufield
Slaf - Bedard - Mishkov
That's not a huge top 6 and the 2 big boys on the left aren't known to be bruisers...
It's a good problem to have though
I agree but we need to pick BAP in the draft.I'm not sure how anyone can watch Edmonton, with their group of forwards, and say we need a franchise forward. We need a #1 puck moving defenseman. All the teams winning cups have them. We don't. We can keep stocking up the forward cupboard but at some point we need a true #1. We haven't had one since PK and Markov. That said, it's not a great defensive crop this year, but I don't think we turn it around and start competing for a wildcard without that #1 d. I really hope our staff has their eyes open and trade a couple more guys and go heavy on d in the later rounds and hopefully hit a homerun pick.
If Michkov drop out of the top 4 it would be such a homerun for the team that get him. I've thought about it and I think it's not impossible to see him drop in the 6-7 range, if that happens I hope he falls into our hands but my gut feeling tell me we may pass on him too (hope I'm wrong on that). Here's the thing about Michkov is that his visibility by not being at the WJCs and U18s will be lower and some people won't have seen enough to see his stock potentially drop.
But I've seen more and more concerns about his game creep up. I think he's clearly going 4 or later.

considering we have 2 picks in the top 12 I think that would severely mitigate the risk of taking mitchkov in the eyes of managementLast year Hutson was free falling in the draft and when came our 4th pick I was absolutely sure they would once again pass on him.
Your gut feeling is simply you still coping with two decades of Trevor Timmins and it's understandable.
I agree. Having that caliber of a player on an ELC while the others are on a big contract would be a huuuuuuge boost. We won’t win the cup in the next 3-5 yrs…

a good bit of Colby Barlow in the vid, heck of a goal he scored through the legs there. Again I was impressed with him.
I feel ya! But when the top tier prospects are forwards, you draft the forwards and then trade one of your forward youngsters for that elusive top D.I'm not sure how anyone can watch Edmonton, with their group of forwards, and say we need a franchise forward. Very underrated prospect, no elite tools, but alot of good ones, very competitive, good edge work and good IQ as well. I wouldnt be surprised if he makes team Canada junior next year.He has pro winger written all over him. He can shoot, skate, play physical and defend. Not the most creative in the world but put him with the right linemates and he can be a force.
So far we would have #9 and #11
who do you pick ??
#9 = Benson
#11 = Barlow
what's the deal on those 2? Say we pick those 2 hypothetically how do you see the Habs future shaping up specifically?I like your pick. Benson is a good consolation prize if Habs don't pick top 5.
Barlow is a really solid prospect aswell.
#1D next year or with our 3rd 1st from this year.I'm not sure how anyone can watch Edmonton, with their group of forwards, and say we need a franchise forward. We need a #1 puck moving defenseman.
