According to above article, the holder of the pick is charged "the lottery win" and not the original team.

If we win the lottery using Florida's pick, it counts as one of our wins. However, last year's win does not count as we didn't move up, so we still get 2 lottery wins.

Team Finland roster is out for the WJC

No Halttunen which is too bad, but Hameenaho will be there as their only first time draft eligible player.

On an insane note, Kiviharju made the team as a 16 year old, so he'll really have the chance to break some records with a good tournament. Very rare someone makes it that young for Finland, much less a defender.

Lundell and Kakko made it as 16 IIRC, well their d-1 at least.

Edit not Kakko, just Lundell. He was 17 though.

Haltunen might not even be a first round pick at this point. What a terrible year from him

How good is Reinbacher? Haven't been able to pick up a game from him, don't know much about him. RHD in a top 10 list? Is this warranted? Could definitely be someone we aim for if that's the case, although I'd prefer forwards.

Yes, I mentioned him a few pages back. I was watching Saskatoon for Moldendyk, but Sidorov was outstanding. Kid can shoot! He's a bull too. Gets to net/slot, has a one-timer, can score from perimeter but doesn't rely on it. Gets inside.

He's not getting passed over this draft.

A better version of Bichsel.
 
I think we only have Mailloux & Barron as RHD in the system ? Not that I'm advocating for drafting for need but if we could find a decent prospect on defense that shoot right, it would help shore up an organizational weakness in our prospect pool. They are a rare kind so you always want to have some to develop.

I could see Reinbacher being as high as 6 on the Habs list... we need a RHD so badly they would have to really like one of the wingers more

Engstrom plays on the right but he is a left shot, and yes they definitely need more RHD in the system.

He seems to be progressing very well. We need to break that trend of not being able to draft & develop Swedish prospects. We have nothing to show since Naslund, it’s ridiculous for such a high profile hockey country.

Good. Hes a very well round player overall. Im still unsure if hes a savvy player or just a good system player. I like him, unsure how much I like him.

Gets shot through though, this I love.

There's shaping up to be a really nice top-5 in the 2024 draft too, which is great because that was supposed to be another year like 2022 without any true #1 picks
