@Goldenhands @WeThreeKings

Will you two be doing a mid season ranking at the end of December with an analysis of each player in the top 10/20? I've been too busy recently to follow them in detail so it'd be appreciated to see your perspectives on what you've seen from them do far this season

Nope, personally I wont end up with a full round ranking but will comment on some of them.

If we end up picking in the 10-15 range, there still will be alot of good players. Oliver Moore and Reinbacher are 2 guys I really like especially in that range.

Well, maybe I end up with a top 10-15, but it wont be more than that.

I'll do a ranking after the WJC. I probably won't do a write up but if you have questions about anyone, I can share what I've seen/heard.

Better off waiting after the WJC for any rankings/thoughts. Its a very easy way to scout 1-2-3, sometimes more players at once.

Indeed, the WJC always a great opportunity to see those kids on the same stage, especially the euros playing in top men leagues... Basically impossible to scout them playing 10 mins/game on bottom lines.

I know he can hit. but if he can fight, I hope he never do that… Rockets wasn't a team that can bear he sit in the box for 5 mins or get a game misconduct… Zebras could easily shove him away

It's a little joke we have on the habs board, from the time that the Ottawa Senators and Boston Bruins physically terrorized us into drafting Michael McCarron.

Hypothetically we still need a 1C Suzuki is NOT it. GREAT 2c.

Of course he would be behind a Bedard, Fantilli, Carlsson, 90-95 points centers. And the habs would be set in the middle for at least 10 years + like we haven’t seen, ever.

But i really don’t think he’s a 2C… he’s developing and showing he can be a 1C, getting better every year. You don’t need to be an absolute superstar like Mcdavid or Matthews to be a 1C. Hischier and Aho are first line centers.

Much better rankings. I said, Moore, Honzek & Ziemmer were ranked waaaaaay too low. Moore 11th, Ziemmer 15th & Honzek #22 are significant jumps.

No idea how any of them were rated 2nd round. Lmao

Taking a goalie with our 2nd, hopefully. We need a 3rd 1st. Forward, forward, defense then goalie.
That's Button though

Amen. Suzuki is a very good 1C, but not McDavid, Matthews, level but Hischier for sure and Hischier prove that he is a very good 1C. Suzuki will be behind Bedard, Fantilli or Carlsson, for sure. Like Hischier behind Jack Hughes.

Button drops Michkov to #5 :eek3:

The kid could end up the best player in this entire draft!!! (I still suspect Bedard will be)

I have this sneaky feeling we are going to end up drafting Michkov in the 8-12 range. He is going to fall right into our laps.

Sure we will have to wait for him. But it will give us three more years of crappy teams until he comes over in '26 fully formed.

That would be a dream. Not to mention we have another first rounder this year so it's not like we wouldn't have a new shiny toy from this year while we wait for mitchkov to jump right in and make an impact. I would be pumped to take a kaprizov like impact in a couple years.:thumbu:

Hey guys, hypothetically if we draft 3OA and Bedard and Fantili are expectedly gone. Do you go with Michkov or Carlsson??

I'd be over the moon with either one: adding Kaprisov or Barkov to the young core would be well worth a non-playoff year at the bottom of the standings.

Save your heart the pain…we won’t get any of those top 4 (unless we win the lottery)

Not too sure the Habs are gonna be crappy for much longer. Depending on this years pick, I would expect to compete at worse in 2024.

I could live with Bedard in Anaheim in this scenario

I'm curious what's the strategy here for you guys?
Carlsson at 2 and Michkov/Fantilli at 4?
Michkov at 2 and Carlsson/Fantilli at 4?
Trade 2+4 to Anaheim for Bedard+Drysdale?

I think I would have to go with Michkov at 2 (potential superstar) knowing that you're getting a solid 4th pick no matter what.
But locking Carlsson in as top 6 C for 7+ years and getting a yuge boi like Fantilli if Michkov gets snatched at 3 is also super tempting.
Pick #1 is not getting traded this year and it's likely not worth what it would take anyways.

I take Fantilli at 2 as i don't think he is still there at 4.
I take a winger at 4 or consider trading the pick to someone who has 2 1st rounders depending on who gets taken at 3

At two, I would go for Fantilli and then take Carlsson or Michkov at 4.

Fantilli at #2, 100%
Then
Carlsson or Michkov at #4
