2023 NHL Draft situation

I would assume that if the Hawks draft him, it’s because they did a thorough due diligence and they are very confident (95%+) he’s coming over after his KHL deal. His timing would be perfect.
I think Michkov might be a better choice for the long term. Because the team needs to be in the high lottery range those years too. It simply needs 3-5 high end talents. I don't want a new prospect suddenly changing that if he starts hot next year.

I think picking 7 or higher is more likely than top 3.

It's going to be really hard to finish below SJ, ANA, and AZ. The Canucks may enter the fray on purpose, which could be dangerous. With Buf, Phi, and Ott, one can never underestimate their likelihood of outsucking the opponents and CLB can't compete if they wanted to for a while.

The PK can't get much worse and it may not take much to get the PP going.

Tanking is going to take more of those Dallas type efforts, too much bad out there in other cities.

They have 3 in a row against AZ, SJ, and ANA at the end of February a few days before the deadline, might be the most interesting stretch of the season.

Compare what those teams have to the Hawks once you subtract Kane and Toews. Arizona probably will not trade Keller, Schmaltz, and Crouse. Plus, they got a couple rookies like Maccelli that should compete. Their goalie seems to steal 1 game out of 10 they have no business winning. Does SJ deal Meier? If not, they'll have Hertl, Meier, Couture and Karlsson which will be better than what the Hawks have at the top of their roster. Anaheim looks awful but the Hawks are right there with the next tier of awful teams when you subtract Kane and Toews. Teams like Columbus, Ottawa, and Vancouver all will have more talent than the Hawks. I definitely think the Hawks will be a bottom 5 team and hopefully they get a top 3 pick.

The Ducks have a bunch of guys on 1 year deals as well.

Highly likely the Hawks trade Kane and Toews and when they’re gone we’ll have Seth Jones and nothing else. Even if mid-low tier guys like: Murphy, AA, and Domi don’t get traded we’ll still be an awful team with awful goaltending.

We had a hot start for whatever reason, don’t let it fool you. This team is terrible enough on goaltending alone to pick top 3.

Remember when a quarter of this board was out on the ledge because the Hawks were "too good to tank"?

Good times. Good times.
None of these teams were trying to tank and they’re still worse than us, it's definitely a cause for concern

Yeah I’m not worried. The more I watch the Hawks, the less concerned I am that Toews and Kane are gonna waive.

Ducks tied after two. If they win, we’re 1 point out of last.

Can you win in the NHL with 2 sub 5'11" 1-2 centers? Bedard 5.09 and Nazar 5.10?

NJ - Hirscher 6.01 and Hughes 5.11
BOS - Bergerob 6.01 and Krejci 6.00
VGS - Eichel 6.03 and Karlsson 6.00
TOR - Matthews 6.03 and Tavares 6.01
NYI - Barzal 6.00 and Nelson 6.03
SEA - Wennberg 6.02 and Benirs 6.02
DAL - Hintz 6.03 and Faksa 6.03
WPG - Sheifele 6.03 and Dubois 6.03
TB - Point 5.10 and Stamkos 6.01
CAR - Aho 6.00 and Kotkaneimi 6.02

Just a question, but when those two go head to head in the playoffs do they end up on the winning side 4 in 7 games?

How has Toronto done with their big centers

If Point and Hughes were on the same team, would they be successful?

Buffalo and CBJ both pick up a point tonight. Next four games for the Hawks are against the Oilers, Rangers, Islanders and Devils. Not seeing a lot of wins there.

Kane and Toews may not go anywhere. Davidson didn't exactly stick the landing on deals last year, hard to move that many cap bucks. Kane is on a terrible scoring pace, Toews down to 1 goal last 9 games now that teams have cleaned up their defense.

I wasn't fooled by the start, the praise was misplaced and obnoxious. My concern is that the Hawks just aren't that terrible compared to several other teams, they have depth at some positions. Teams are going to start sleepwalking coming to play the Hawks again.

I like the optimism, I just don't see how the Hawks stay below ANA, SJ, and AZ in the West. CLB is ready to implode and a couple of other teams are ready to fall apart.

The Hawks are going to have some streaks picking up points. There are going to be alot of meaningless games for playoff teams the last 3 dozen games.

I hope they bottom out, but I'm not sure they'll be able to yet.

The starts were that they played terrible teams.

Your assessment this team isn't awful like those is founded on what? The Hawks are literally 30th or low in most all 5on5 categories. They're only won a few times because Stalock and Soderblom had some hot games.

Even Arizona gets games like that. They just recently had a 4-0 win vs Carolina. I don't get what other than, sleeper wins, you think makes this Blackhawks team so better. Those teams get those too.

Can youbimaginectgisxsxenario:

Hawks keep losing with Toews and Kane...

Then we trade rthem at TDL...then after trades Hawks mysterioyslywin 10 if last ast 21 games renaining timi snatch lottery probability of top 3 to only top 7 or 8 ore-lotto..Anf if coursezm we know rhe hockey gods will not reward us with any lotto luck.

Prediction: Bedard will not end up inArizona(Bettman wouldvnever allow a Generational Talent to play before just in that fail of a franchise.before just 5000 fans.

Prediction: Of course Bedard will end up with his favourite team= Canucks...just because hockeygods want to dig the knife deeper into Stan's mess....would be a double blow to Hawksc ans...because not only suffering this season and not getting Bedard as a reward but the indignity of especialy Vancouver getting him would be beyond torture....

Actually could be triple blow...if Vancouver finishes with more points than Hawks but wins lotto for #1 and pushes Hawks down 1 spot in the process ..

Bottom line...woukd not surprise me if Hawks miss outvon all of the top 3 ...

Just Karma...you design a Tank...but it still somehow misses the objective.
