2023 NHL Draft situation

Tampa Bay’s 2nd in 2023 is currently pick #60. Rangers 2024 first belongs to St Louis. Rangers could conceivably re sign Kane and make it to the conference finals in 2024 making their first rounder #30

Patrick Kane has got to be worth more than moving up 30 spots. Also the 2023 draft is really deep so a player available at #60 could potentially be comparable to an early 2nd rounder in 2024 anyway.

I don’t believe nyr have cap space to re-sign him.

I dont think the Rangers have traded their 2024 1st. I believe its the worst pick of the 2 2023 1sts that the Rangers owned (the stars pick being the other) that goes to St. Louis.

So if the Hawks make a deal for the other 1st, it would be the better of the 2 picks, whichever way it falls.

He is without doubt the 2nd best player in this draft. There is plenty of highlights of him available. He reminds me so much of Kane.
No size, no weight. Uses his stick quickness to steal pucks and is an offensive threat anytime he has it.
Gladly take him over Adam Creighton … oops, I mean Fantilli.

Keep adding (if you can) to 23. This is a 3 to 5 year plan. Next years team will be just as bad. Plenty of time to add picks for future years.

I went to Tankathon Draft Simulator thus morning and for the first time in single tries (running tge sim onlyv1 time that day)Hawks landed 1st.

Unfortunately in the actual lottery night drawing ,I cannot believe Hawks will be so lucky and get Bedard..

I just have this sinking feeling that VAN or STL or PHI ...teams not in top5 pre-lotto spots will get lucky(unless Gary of course fixes the draw and land Bedard in large marjet Chicago for the best marketing reasons)..

And while nobody woukd complain if the "expected" best chance top 5 centers other than Hawks won't...exceot for Arizona because NHL would be crazy to have him in that black hole ...
Also it is not optimal for NHL if he lands on late nigh (for Eastern and Central time viewers) if he land in SJ or Van) ...so there us that...plus you do not want the"next one" to land in VAN because that means the 2 biggest stars NHL willbe marketing both are in Canada and both in Western Canada to boot...notoptinal for NHL promotion of its 2 biggest stars..(of which generational Bedard will be up there with McGod.).

Have to research teamsin mid first to see if any have onlyca 1st and a shortage of 2nds and 3rd who might take #28-32 where we pick with the TB first rounder plus hge 2nd we got from Ottawa(earlyv40s) to enableus to move upbto graba mid -first target we like mire than keeping the 2 later picks..

Currently they are #10 and in the lotto... If they either climbe up a few spots or do not move up in the lotto then maybe they consider getting a late first and a mid 2nd back to move down from posdiblyv11-15 area of the draft?

Doubt they would take McCabe +2nd in summer deal to give us their 1st rounder(if they do not get #1or#2in lotto or move up in standibgs outvof lotto position by tge end...bit maybe Murohy(RD) +2nd tor their 1st (that is a possible sumner deal)..

CGY is at #15 and currently ...tgey have a 2nd but non3rd...Might consider taking our TB pick and

I have trouble with the credibility of anyone insinuating the lottery is or might be fixed.

I never paid too much attention to the player rankings on tankathon. My question for anyone who might know is … who does those rankings? I’ve noticed the prospects from Russia are doing a steady climb up the rankings.
Gulyayev, from mid 20’s to 15.
Simashev, from mid 40’s to 22.
But, up 10 spots into the 1st round
Rykov, up more than 10 to mid 2nd rd
Mukhanov from not listed to mid 2nd rd.

Is that their guess or are they using some talking heads rankings?
