They go by points at the end of the year and that's all that matters.
at the end of the year points and points % are exactly the same order. Don’t be stupid, math is math, its not that hard.
If the Jackets and the Hawks play the rest of the year exactly as they have played to this point (before this win) the Jackets are 1st and the Hawks 2nd.

If. I get what you're saying and it's a semantics argument I don't particularly care to have.

Well.. now we gotta hope Toronto finishes ahead of points over Tampa. Don't want the Blues picking in front of the Hawks even at the end of the 1st round.

Points doesn't matter if either team advances and they likely play each other.
I’m not positive but I think you’re wrong.
Example
Tampa finishes ahead of Toronto but Boston wins the division. If both Tampa and Toronto lose in either of the 1st 2 rounds they are still ranked by regular season totals.
Losing in rd 1 doesn’t automatically mean you’re picking 17 to 24.

This sounds right

Any chance Oliver Moore slips some and we can grab him with another 1st if we get one in the 15-20 range?

That seems to be the range people did have him in but recently I've only seen him in the top ten.

Slim chance. I'd put him in around 10-12.

#1 overall odds are huge. Need to liquidate talent on this team no matter what.

The lotto odds aren't set up like the NBA. Very steep drop off in value.

Ducks lose but take it to OT.

By the way, every team in the league this year already has more points than the 2020 Red Wings had with ~15 games in hand

Where wings fans said they weren't tanking because they traded for Perlini and Ratty

The Hawks right now have more wins than losses in 2023 (11 to 10 by my count). That is unbelievable with this roster. Hat's off to Luke Richardson I guess. And surprisingly, even with all this winning, they still are in the hunt for the worst record.

But what it's also doing is putting them in the hunt for possibly picking 6th or 7th, or maybe even 8th if this winning keeps up, and a team or two jump over them in the lottery.

If the Hawks want their best shot at Bedard, maybe it's time to push for trades of Murphy and McCabe asap? Unless they feel staying the course is in their best interests, even if it means missing out on Fantilli, Carlsson or Bedard.
