Seriously. What is with this sudden narrative, @Kevin Musto? Do you really want us all to start trusting your opinion more than the teams of paid observers, and reporters who are in constant contact with actual scouts?

This is such a bizarre marker that you’ve laid down.

“The media” that would be several different scouts (observers) from several different sources (usually associated with teams) and/or Bobby Mac … which is actually a compilation of the opines from several different observers.
These folks watch 100’s of games. 2 weeks ago you said you weren’t watching then a week later offered a strong opinion on this board.
You are certainly entitled to your opinion but this is silly. You are claiming all sources are either lying or untrained because they don’t agree with you.
Historical data says it’s the opposite.
I actually like what I’ve read about your boy but the GM that takes him 3rd rather than trade down to get him 5-9 should be fired.

Bob hasn't put a list together since pre season

You'd be a fool to base your opinions solely on that in January

As for the non Bob outlets, you've got a bunch of people just copying each other's lists and being too afraid to make actual adjustments over the mutually agreed upon consensus... until someone makes a change and then everyone copies them.

So nobody will make a change, unless they make a change. Then they made a change. And nobody else will make another change until a change is made.
I’m simply not buying that you see each guy +\- 20 games a year.
Again, you’re entitled to your opinion on players. Based on what you see. The credibility goes out the window when you claim all the people who get paid to evaluate talent are bad at it but you who sees guys much less are the expert.
It’s that need to feel superior … even if to a bunch of folks on the internet.

I don't claim to watch 20 games from each prospect. I never have. I'm not sure why you made that up.

The majority of guys paid to do draft coverage are just hockey journalists, as opposed to scouts. Craig Button gets paid to make a list and he doesn't even show his work. These guys just follow narratives.

There are legit evaluators in the media. Edwards and the Black Book team, EliteProspects, Dobber... these groups have good people working for them. They still kind of fall into the consensus problem, but if you listen to their staff individually you can find the ones with good takes.

But again, most of these outlets like Sportsnet and whatever else you're reading, they hire guys that are as good at evaluating talent as Scott Powers. It's not credible stuff.

He's acting more like a politician than an idiot .

Double and triple down when wrong. Throw a parade when right.
Rip draft talent evaluators that were once held in high regard(See Mark Kelley).
Bash the hockey media.

I suspect a "rigged" NHL entry draft this summer.

Agree. For a guy who has tried to drag multiple players for supposedly supporting Trump, @Kevin Musto sure likes using the Trump playbook.

The Kevin Musto draft cycle:

-Look at a list of the top 30 players

-Pick a random guy not listed in the top 5-10 range who is scoring a lot in their league and start hyping him up (Picking someone out of the top 5-10 is crucial so you appear smart for seeing something pro scouts dont.

If player is drafted by the Hawks build a shrine of said player and pay $500 for lock of their hair and hype him up as the next generational player (along with Ian Mitchell, Peter Reynolds, and Dylan Strome).

If player is not drafted by the Hawks proceed to question the intelligence of the GM + scouting department and set a bag of poop on fire in front of Nolan Allans house just because.

Not the case when you have competent people making decisions.

Mike Doneghey is a brilliant scout. One of the best in the league. I hadn't scouted a single one of his picks outside the 1st round last year. Greene, Ludwinski, Hayes, Savoie, Thompson, James... didn't know them. But I didn't complain because Doneghey knows what he's doing. And I'm excited for all those guys. Doneghey was responsible for drafting my boy Nazar too. He rivals any head scout in the league.

Korchinski and Rinzel were KD guys. Those picks I'm less excited about. They're not Stanley/Kelley level blunders, I think both should be good, but no doubt Chicago could have done better. Imagine them coming out the 1st round with Mintyukov, Nazar, and Firkus/Kulich? But whatever. KD wanted his guys. It is what it is.

Certainty if we finish last overall is a top three pick...

So Bedard or Fantilli or Carlsson or Michkov are a guarantee

And I’m still hoping TB finishes out of playoffs...gonna be hard as the forth team in Atlantic is so far behind
