Currently Nashville and STL are 10th andx11th pre-lotto draft position...You can only move up 10vspots...so while their %chances of winning Bedard (or Fantilli in the 2nd draw ) are small,it Still is posdible tgese longer shotsxwin the #1 or #2 pick.

Should it happen both these longer shots wina draw the Hawks woukd be#3if we finished last in regular season....but imagine the calamity if Bedard went to Nashville and Fantilli to STL...Yikes!

Colorado is surprisingly close tothisex2 teams...they gavecfalken down given a pillbox injuries to key players...Shoukd injuries keep them down maybe they drop to11th or 10th pre-lotto?
You do not want Bedard or Fantilki on the Avs either...

If Fantilli was playing with Bedard or Stankoven or Wright or Otthman or Guenther he would have a really high point total too. He certainly looks the part when hes on the ice. Hes also playing out of his normal position. I have zero worries about him.

There are just older guys that are very high quality on this Canadian team....and Bedard.

Hes out producing every top prospect at the NCAA level as a freshman. Thats over Cooley Gauttier Snuggerud Knies Coronato etc.. Those are all big time prospects that are older then him.

Leo Carlsson looks fantastic too. If the hawks finish 32nd they are in a great spot.

My opinion is that while Bedard is on a completely different level from the rest of the top, Fantilli/Carlsson/Michkov are all guys that would go 1st overall in an average to below average draft. So while they're not Bedard, they're still damn good prospects. I think they're a strong bet to be 1st liners at least. Whether they reach superstar level is to be seen.

No matter what they need a bonified #1 Center coming out of this draft IMO. I would lean away from Michkov but hes the player I know least about so i could be completely off base. Just because of the extra risk.

Bedard is just a different animal. All of this while also playing out of his usual center position (RW) a full 1 to 3 years younger than the other guys and carrying the team on his back. Just an other worldly talent.

I think the top four are pretty set in:
1. Bedard
2. Fantilli
3. Carlsson
4. Michkov

I'd be shocked if the team picking 3rd picked Michkov, and I'd be shocked if the team picking 4th didn't pick him.

I think Fantilli being a better skater will keep him above Carlsson on boards.

I was a little on the 'I don't know" side about Fantilli but the items noted make sense for his earlier struggles on the team. I bet when he goes back to Michigan he lights it up.

Uncle Gary conspiring to put Bedard in Arizona?

Dunno how believable that is.

Don’t know who those guys are, but it’s nutty to believe that Deloitte or whoever audits the lottery would conspire with Bettman to rig it. There’s zero percent chance that guy in the video heard differently directly from Bettman.

Bolded: Wasn't it Stallone who's hand was broken so that he could escape during the game?
I t was long ago but I thought he was the leader of the escape and they needed him to travel with the team but he was only the manager and Germans would only let players go. So they told Germans he was the back up goalie and the starter slapped his arm to let him play. Pele was in film too, R.I.P.

I will say this, if Arizona wins or the Hawks pick 3rd there will be cries of CONSPIRACY!

BTW the odds are the Hawks pick 3rd so I'm actually putting Leo Carlsson in 2024 lineups in pencil because he's the most likely outcome.

I think you hope to have your Keith and Seabrook already in the organization and they come out of the group of Korchinski, Del Mastro, Allan, Vlasic, etc.

Hopefully one of Commesso or Soderblom is the future Crawford.
Crawford took FIVE YEARS in the AHL before he made the NHL...let that sink in

The lottery will be what it is. I doubt KD had him pencilled in. He knew he would get good pieces this draft and the tank is going well to get us where we need to go. Bedard or not, we will be working our way to a better place with the 1st or 3rd pick (but I would really like to have Michkov if not Bedard)

True but keep in mind Soderblom will be 24 by the start of next season, so he is on a timeline that may work with the future nucleus of forwards and defensemen. Commesso will be 22.

Crawford was 25 when he became an NHL regular.

Crawford was ready a year earlier but it was a tossup between him and Niemi and contract wise it was easier to bring Niemi up

I have to say, it's going to be pretty crazy having back to back Calder winners in 2024 and 2025 with Bedard and Nazar.

This is not correct. If a team 12th or higher wins the 1st draw the Number 1 pick doesn’t change.
If the move up of 10 slots (or less) pushes 2 teams into the #2 position the team with the better record picks 3rd.
The only threat to the worst team picking 1st is the 1st lotto.
