2023 NHL Draft situation

Carlsson is at the level or above of Peter Forsberg and the Sedin twins per EP at this point in their respective careers in the SHL. If that is the case then I am good to go with him as our 6'3" C with Nazar 2nd line C.
That sounds pretty good. Do we all think that Nazar can provide that 1-2 punch down the middle that teams strive to build around?

Michkov makes a lot of great plays in tight around the net. Which worries me if he can do it at his size in the big leagues. But I do like his fit with the rebuild timeline too.

Is there a consensus thought that Carlsson will play in the NHL next year or maybe stay a year in the SHL?

Hard tons

Hard to say as he is losing a development year and all with the injury this year. sure hoping so.

From actual people with knowledge I’m not sure but I don’t think if the hawks drafted him that he would be over with the big club. Maybe in Rockford for a year?

He's not as skilled as those guys though.

Yes. Nazar is essentially Brayden Point.

Consensus seems to be that he's NHL ready, along with Bedard and Fantilli. But whereas those guys are immediate top 6 players, Carlsson is the kind of guy that would probably play 3rd line if brought in immediately. So the smarter play for a rebuilding team that can take their time would probably be to have him marinate as a 1st liner in the AHL for a year.

I saw one ranking recently that had carlsson ahead frantil. WJ coming up will be a huge to see how the 3 of them rank. more excited for that then the blackhawks. I just want the Blackhawks to end with the worst record. im fine with any of those 3. they all would go # 1 or would be in the mix 2017-2022. the last guy I feel is clearly would be ahead is Matthews. IMO

When you say Nazar is essentially Point, what do you mean by that? Point is a 1C on most teams in the league but it doesn’t seem like the consensus is that Nazar is slam dunk 1C, or that the hawks are even counting on him to be.

I just mean size and skillset.

I'm not saying Nazar is a slamdunk 1C, although I do think he's a surefire top 6er.

Basically Point is the ceiling. Whether Nazar reaches that or he winds up something a bit lesser, I'm not sure. Definitely has been trickier to assess since he's been out this year.

The Sharks are 10 points up on the Hawks now but have played 4 more games. Only Arizona, Columbus and Anaheim or less than 10 points to us.

Now, I don’t want to actively cheer against the Hawks, but tonight’s game against Columbus is an absolute must lose. That’s a four point swing that could propel Columbus out of last place contention.

It’s really important for this rebuild to get a guaranteed top-three pick. I don’t think it’s necessarily cheering against the Hawks to hope they lose individual games.

You’re cheering for the greater good of the franchise.

Hawks need to play Mrazek more or trade Stalock to a team in need of a goalie. When Stalock has been healthy he's been really damn good behind a team that is absolute ass.
well I agree on one point...Stalock UNLESS THEY PLAN TO EXTEND HIM should be traded for anything...because I believe ALL our pending UFAs need to traded...ALL
Mrazek is our only goalie other than Soderblom so yes unfortunately he will start more games this year

why would you extend anyone. you can bring them back after the season. the Cap is flat we are 1 of few teams that will have tons of cash.

The Avs were limited but this Yotes team also beat Carolina 3-0 a month ago.

I never feared they were gonna be out tanking, they have too many younger pieces set to improve, which is what happened.

Mrazek and Soderblom are the probable nhl goalies next year especially if they Commesso after his college season.

I'm assuming that they'll sign Commesso, but what's the likelihood Davidson drafts a goalie in the 1st/2nd? Looks like Michael Hrabal and Carson Bjarnason are the top 2 guys right now.
