Canada’s 2023 draft class is exceptional.

Slovakia has its best class ever.

The QMJHL is loaded with amazing prospects for this draft....beside Peddel and Gauthier....Mathieu Cataford and Dylan Mackinnon from the Mooseheads are two to really watch....as well as Matteo Rotendi from Drummondville too...Luke Coughlin and Maxim Coursol from Rimouski

Otto Stenberg is not even in top 5 in Sweden…. Alex Ciernik on 21 place?? He is not even among 20 in Sweden! Arttu Karki before Jesse Nurmi is a joke. Where is Dominik Petr?
Better luck with list next time.

Watching the U17 game SWE - CZE. There are some guys on the roster for Sweden that are only there because of their dads and their network and position in Swedish hockey. But the ones that are good are playing well. Otto Stenberg, Theo Lindstein, Axel Pekkas Sandlin, Noah Erliden, Kalle Carlsson and Noel Nordh. It will all be sorted out before the U20 WC.

I'd wager that there will be some more defensemen that come along and shake this up a little bit, but seems to always be tougher to determine this early.

Hard to say as this looks like an elite year for top end forwards with skill and explosiveness to match.

Yeah there are some wierd decisions in this squad. During a long time we have said that Färjestad is looking like the strongest squad for the 05 group. But Elliot Ståhlberg who I think have been their best player at least this season, is not in the squad? I do not say the other Färjestad players in the U17 squad are bad but it is wierd that 3 other Färjestad forwards was in the squad but not Ståhlberg. At least if we look att the performance for this season. But maybe I am wrong? It would be nice to hear more about if you guys in this forum thinks this was the correct squad?

The Elit camp roster for U17 Sweden just announced. It becomes better and better. The goalies are the best ones at the moment. When Gidlöf (Leksand) having problem with his back. And the majority of the best players are in Region väst. And the roster reflects that. But there are still some weird names on the roster. I said it will all be sorted out. And it will. But if they pick forwards from Färjestad BK and not picking Elliot Ståhlberg, they can´t have watched any games? I saw them beat Örebro 8-2 and Färjestad played really good. Albert Wikman was the best defender, so nice to see that pay off. But one who was really weak was W Johansson. So don´t understand that selection ... E Burger (ÖHK) was also struggling in a (for the day) weak Örebro. Örebro goalie E Olsson had a tough day to. And K Carlsson (Örebro) didn´t directly work his ass of ... I´ve also seen Västerås U18 live regularly and Gustaf Kangas has been really good the last games. H Lejon has went the other way so that was a surprise. I don´t pay that much attention to J18 Öst because there are only one team there. It will be interesting to watch Isac Hedqvist (Luleå) and Felix Nilsson (Rögle).

Totaly agree with you. It’s really unfair that Ståhlberg is missing. He’s one of the best 2005 in Sweden at the moment. For Bürger I already before he’s overrated and he have much better D’s then him.
Not sure if “daddy’s” are still not involved in coach vision!
Same as a story I heard about Djurgården - skillful player couldn’t come to HG, because the spot was reserved for owners son, who is not even close by quality! Any body wonder then, why Djurgården is where it is in SHL and J20 at the moment?

Yep could just be one of those drafts that great defensemen can be found later in the first or second round

What order would you have the top-5?

I'd go:
1. Bedard
2. Michkov
3. Dvorsky
4. Fantilli
5. Yager

That is absolutely insane. I hope my sharks commit to an actual tank for one of these guys.

Jheez Slovakia is having an amazing draft class. Sad thing is that they need atleast 3-4 really strong draft classes within few years span, because there are always few players that fails to fill expectations. Hopefully they're able to do that!

Where is Benson?

I hope, Michkov will be picked by one of Canadian teams. Just for fun.
