Good evening all. Boo this. Boo.

Let me make my prediction.

Chicago - Bedard - becomes a Patrick Kane type player.

Anaheim - Fantilli - Quinton Byfield version 2.0

Columbus - Michkov - Bure redux

San Jose - William Carllson - say hello to Lias Anderson

Habs - Will Smith - no way in hell Hughes doesn't pick him at this point if the above 4 is as above. Smith becomes a Mike Modano level talent.

Enjoy everyone. That is my top 5 prediction and those are my projections.

Would be hypocritical to pass on Michkov, who has no control over his precarious situation, because you took Mailloux, when he had every opportunity to not do a shitty thing.
Seems crazy since we took Tinordi over Kuznetsov and that worked out real well. There’s probably a lot of other Russian players we passed on that are great.

I have zero confidence in the Habs drafting Michkov if available. They would rather gamble on a significantly less talented prospect.

It's pretty crazy when you think about it. This might be the only chance this team ever has to take a franchise changing player at number 5 and you just know they'll drop the ball. Pick number 5 is where I feel the risk for Michkov starts making sense.

Two best case scenarios:
1. Carlsson falls to the Habs
2. Habs have the balls to draft Michkov

Worst case scenario: Will Smith

Smith's vision, passing, dangling, and IQ are undeniable but I'm a little worried he's like playoff Marner or Drouin. I wasn't impressed with his performance in the U18 Gold medal game. He was a non-factor in his biggest game of the season. Obviously only one game but I'm a little worried he won't elevate in playoff hockey. He could easily make me eat crow though and I'm not sure I prefer Dvorsky, Reinbacher, or Leonard. Maybe Benson. We'll see!

The fact that they said if he is tied with another player in terms of talent Michkov would not be picked due to other reasons is awfully confusing given how Michkov being significantly more talented than anyone not named Bedard is what's keeping him so high up on lists.

Sounded like both Grier and Hughes are open to Michkov.

They should be. Leo Carlsson is a nice player who has looked fine in every tournament I've seen him. But he's never laid waste to tournaments like Michkov.

I've literally never seen Michkov in a tournament where he didn't destroy. At the U20s 17 months go, he put up 6 points in 3 games before COVID happened (including the exo game where he outplayed Bedard). He had just turned 17.
