Celtics/NBA 2024-2025 Part 2: Mavs & Lakers Blockbuster Stuns NBA

Luka might be fat and not at all interested in playing defense, but at least he can stay on the court.

Did he get punched in the jewels there? Couldn't see anything from the angle, but sure seems like he was hurting there. He came back and played and Mavs looked great today

Isn't Luka currently not on court? But I'll give it to these Euro bod guys like Jokic and Doncic. Maybe they're on to something with their local YMCA physique.

Mark Jones is absolutely terrible

Lame verbiage/jokes nonstop. Sorta like Drew Carter!
Such a waste b/c Doris Burke and Al Jefferson are excellent.

Just an excellent game all around and without Holiday and the late scratch of KP.
Tatum was fire and so was Pritchard. Also love how Sam Hauser played.

NBA squashed that trade
I’m dying to know what else the found aside from what was already known. They don’t usually rescind trades.

Shady Lakers 😆

I think a major part of this is if he didn't take the job in 2021, why would he be more likely to now? He's got a much cushier job as president than coach, and college is much less attractive now with NIL.
None of us can measure his desire to coach. I think that's what's being missed here. With new ownership coming in I could see him at least thinking about coaching again. But who knows, he might be completely over wanting to coach and committed to the NBA executive life. He's been great as an executive though.

Hard to say what Stevens will do It depends whether ownership is willing to stay above the first apron, i think. Though he could just want to coach again. My impression is he is pretty happy.

However, make no mistake, the next owner will be dumping Holiday and very possibly one other serious contributor.

The Tatum and Brown revenge tour continues to roll on. No Holliday, no Brown, no problem.

Was a rough first half but they came out after the half and torched Miami.

KP was excellent tonight.

Hornets are now disputing the Mark Williams trade being rescinded by the Lakers.

from espn.com:

The Charlotte Hornets have been in contact with the NBA as they explore options to dispute the Los Angeles Lakers' failed physical assessment of center Mark Williams, sources told ESPN on Monday night.

The Hornets are considering their next steps and weighing avenues to challenge the Lakers' evaluation process or seek alternative resolutions with the league office, sources said.

Williams was traded last week for Lakers rookie Dalton Knecht, Cam Reddish, a 2030 pick swap and Los Angeles' 2031 first-round pick. But two days after the trade deadline passed, the deal was rescinded after Williams' failed exam.

Williams' physical showed multiple issues, sources said. The center has missed 60% of the Hornets' games over his three seasons in the league, most notably for separate back and foot injuries.

Because the deadline passed, the trade was not amended to account for whatever new medical information the Lakers might have discovered in their evaluation of Williams.

The players involved returned to their original teams but have yet to play; Knecht, Reddish and Williams were all ruled out Monday.

In a statement Saturday night, the Hornets said they are "excited" to welcome Williams back to the team.
