Going off scout reports, and Button who said he was good in his zone and could play PK. I never saw the kid play once. Maybe you are right.
I am right. Hes a bit lazy too.

With that said, in one of his latest interview he recognized this as his main weakness and said he wanted to fix that, which is something that is encouraging.

Is there is any defensean who could be interresting in rounds 1 to 4 ?
A D who could be under the radar and being an excellent choice?

Allen in the 3rd would be nice. he's fallen off the map but he could still put it all together in 5 years. has a lot of tools.

Button is an idiot.

Saying that Smith is a two-way C is like saying that Caufield is a 6'3" power forward.

Smith's offensive skillset is nuts and this is why you'd pick him. An absolute magician with the puck. But he's so trash defensively, he doesn't even know his own goalie's last name.

Obviously that can be developed and I expect him to become a more responsible player in the NCAA since he's aware it's a weakness in his game, but he's certainly not a "two-way centre" at the moment.

Best case scenario is Carlsson

Most likely scenario is Bedard, Carlsson, Fantilli, Smith are gone, and Michkov is off the table.

The only 2 in consideration at that point would be Dvorsky and Reinbacher

Why? I haven’t seen either.
Dvorsky doesnt have the same offensive potential and defensively they should be similar.

Benson is one of the smartest player in the draft, hes an awesome playmaker. Always in the right spot, always at the right moment. Puck follows him around and hes a maniac on the forecheck.

Dvorsky has an insane shot, better than Benson (much better) but he doesnt bring anything dynamic.

Interesting hearing Hughes say how a team like tampa drafted based on skill and hockey sense, and later made changes to add size/competitiveness as “finishing touches” to put them over the top. Says they want the most talented hockey player regardless of size.

Very interesring when he drafted someone that was all size no IQ not even 12 months ago...

As Ive been saying, I think Hughes is in over his head.

Watching Kamloops vs Seattle right now...a guy I picked later on would be Jeremy Hanzal. Nothing impressive stats wise for a 20 yo but skating and agility is impressive.

It's a good think Hughes has Gorton to answer to instead of MB answering to himself

Grier said his contract is not a factor for them and Hughes said that if a similarly talented player is available they will go with him instead. Doesn't sound like Hughes is open to him.

I think he meant to say he wont win a tie breaker because of his position. Meaning, they're not looking for wingers if the talent is similar.

Leonard or Dvorsky wouldn't win a tie breaker with Reinbacher (provided they're on the same tier as per Hughes)

Position of need is the tie breaker.
