Yeah i know its early but 2022 draft discussion started pretty quickly too last year.
So far its #1 Bedard and #2 Mitchkov but after that what are players you are interested in for the Ducks ?
I don't see Bedard falling like Wright did at all. Who will be this years Slaf and Cooley ?

Blanket warning to everyone - the season is over, the active tanking is over, and everyone needs to remember how to get along.

Polite discussions of different viewpoints is fine. Assertions as to who is a good fan, who is a bad fan, and most particularly trolling behavior is going to result in thread bans and warnings. The vast majority of posters here are great about this. There are a few of you, on both sides of this issue, who are trying to start things, and I would advise you to carefully consider if that snarky comment you just made is worth being your last post in a thread. I would advise the folks who think that making an even snarkier response to make that same assessment. Neither of your posts will be seen by anyone else for long regardless.

It is perfectly fine to not understand how anyone could root for the team to lose. It is perfectly fine to not understand how losing has strong benefits to the franchise king term. There are gaping holes in BOTH positions, that may be discussed and debated…POLITELY.

We are all Ducks fans. Time to remember that and stop being at each other’s throats.

Ducks probably won't finish bottom 2 because Arizona and Chicago will sell off half their talent at the deadline.
San Jose hasn't had a top5 pick in such a long long long time that they might go for it and sell off players to try to get the worse record to secure a Top3 pick. If SJ does that then the Ducks probably have the 4th worst record at most and could drop to #6 overall pick after the lottery.

A lot of interesting power forwards in this draft. Fantilli, Barlow, Halttunen, Stramel, and Wood just to name a few.

damn, give me on of Bedard or Michkov pretty plz.
It’s early but fantilli is 2ppg as a freshmen, and prob brings a lot more to the roster stylistically that we need.

I’d want bedard or fantilli, Leo Carlson also looks fantastic . Also high on yegor and benson.

What Fantilli is doing at the NCAA level (ages 18 - 24) is pretty impressive as a rookie.

Bedard: 5'10 and 185 lbs in CHL (ages 16-20)
Fantilli: 6'2 and 187 lbs in NCAA (ages 18 - 24)
Michkov: 5'10 and 159 lbs in KHL / VHL

Is Michkov reall that thin? Anyhow, landing a top-5 pick this year is going to make those five teams very happy.

CBJ is definitely going to be in the Bedard sweepstakes.

I wonder if the gap between Bedard and Michkov or Fantilli is just as big as the gap between Crosby and Bobby Ryan in the 2005 draft?

I hated we lost that 2005 lottery.

Don’t think so…. I think this is more like the Mcdavid eichel draft.

Bedard is the best choice, but I think fantilli and michkov are close to an eichel #2 overall, and would be #1 picks in many other draft classes.

I’d be happy with any of bedard fantilli yager michkov benson or Carlson.

He's in his third year of eligibility but Djibril Toure is the type of raw project I'd love to see us take on. The 6'7 200 lbs right shot D + (EP is inaccurate on this one) made Sudbury as an undrafted FA camp invite out of my local jr A loop. He's mobile, athletic and mean, seems to be just starting to put it all together.

So, the same injury as Drysdale but already noted to be out the whole year. Can this injury be in different "severity"?

Skipping ahead to the next couple drafts, some high end talent is emerging. At the recent u17 world championship, American F James Hagens set a new tournament scoring record with 21 points in 7 games (8G 13A). He's been shredding it up with the NTDP and has his OHL rights owned by London if he chooses that route. As a late born 06, Hagens isn't eligible until the 2025 draft.

Hagens' teammate Cole Eiserman also really impressed with 12G and 8A in 7 games. Eiserman is just barely eligible for the 2024 draft as a late August 06.

The two Americans really pulled away from field, as the third leading scorers in the tourny were Canada's Porter Martone and Berkly Catton with 12 points each.

So realistically is there any way we can get back into middle 1st?

I don’t think kling will bring back a 1st…. Prob 2nd + prospect.

Maybe Fowler still has 1st round pick value. I can’t see anyone paying a 1st for gibson anymore

Fowler's contract (cap and NTC) makes it so trading him is pointless. The Ducks would not get a return that would be worth losing their best defensemen who is the only defensemen other then Colin White signed beyond this year.
