Yeah let's keep it that wayThis is the thread for discussion of all things 2023 NHL draft. Mock drafts and who we want as Sabres fans included.
Just come to the darkside and hop on the Danielson train
til you realize he is there for a decade for them to turn things around.....people kept saying this about the Oilers and McDavid.I have serious doubts about Chicago's ability to surround Bedard with decent enough talent. I expect they'll waste his career.
Can someone give me a link to an in-depth look or if they’d be so kind to give me the run down on Reinbacher

rb contribute immediately, sometimes wr .. more obvious drafting grit I think takes more time.. like not drafting Reinhart, waiting for him to underperform then poaching a year before takeoff.Wood seems intriguing. Other than his skating he has the size and NHL level shot that this team could use after drafting undersized forwards last year. A few mocks have Buffalo taking him.
Button's full top-16 mock draft:
1. Chicago Blackhawks – Connor Bedard
2. Anaheim Ducks – Adam Fantilli
3. Columbus Blue Jackets – Leo Carlsson
4. San Jose Sharks – Will Smith
5. Montreal Canadiens – Dalibor Dvorsky
6. Arizona Coyotes – Matvei Michkov
7. Philadelphia Flyers – Ryan Leonard
8. Washington Capitals – David Reinbacher
9. Detroit Red Wings – Colby Barlow
10. St. Louis Blues – Matthew Wood
11. Vancouver Canucks – Axel Sandin-Pellikka
12. Arizona Coyotes (via OTT) – Zach Benson
13. Buffalo Sabres – Oliver Moore
14. Pittsburgh Penguins – Brayden Yager
15. Nashville Predators – Gabe Perreault
16. Calgary Flames – Nate Danielson
13. Buffalo Sabres: Matthew Wood, RW, UConn (H-EAST)
I think the Sabres would have liked if one of the two top defensemen in the draft were still available here, but if they’re both gone I don’t think they’re so desperate for a D prospect (see: Rasmus Dahlin, Owen Power) that they’d take a deeper cut at No. 13. With Reinbacher and Sandin Pellikka both gone, Wood, a 6-foot-3 scoring winger (after moving from centre to the wing this season) makes a lot of sense after they drafted centres Matthew Savoie and Noah Ostlund with their first two picks in 2022 (and with the emergence of Tage Thompson as a 1C). You can never have too many wingers who can put the puck in the net, and Wood would join young players like Jiri Kulich and Jack Quinn as players who call that their forte. —Scott Wheeler
13. Buffalo Sabres: Colby Barlow, LW (Owen Sound, OHL)
One of the best pure shooters in the draft, Barlow would be an excellent option for the Sabres’ top six. He’s coming off a whopping 46-goal season as an OHL sophomore and has 76 over the past two seasons, the most of any draft-eligible OHLer. There’s room for his all-around game to grow, especially in defensive activations, but scoring clearly isn’t an issue.
IDK. Seems like Florida might be more inclined to say...You can never have too many wingers committed to playing tough defense, aggressive on the forecheck and who can occasionally put the puck in the net.Scott Wheeler: You can never have too many wingers who can put the puck in the net
his number was immediately retired after the draft, a true legendThree teams had the same chance for Crosby. I will point out that Bobby Ryan was not Sid. But Marek Zagrapan was nothing at all.
does karma belief in the anorganic ?For us…it’s a best case scenario for the top picks (two picks really)
For the league…it’s a best case scenario for the top pick
For karma and belief in hockey gods….a dark, dark day
