It's absolutely insane how some of our posters are insufferable. Posters that I barely see at all during most of the year posting everywhere they can about how the Reinbacher pick is horrible. I think once you made 2-3 comments, people start to understand that you're unhappy. Don't have to post it 50 times. It makes these boards borderline un-readable.

I get it, I would have preferred Michkov or Leonard, but that's personal preference only and I'm not a professional scout.

Anyways, hopefully we can shift some dead weight for a 2nd round pick, but it'll be tough I think.
wondering if we can shift edmunson today to the lightning for the 2nd

Next habs pick is guaranteed a goalie. Wish there was a place to wager that lol

Could also be a right shot forward. They are lacking in that area too.

I think their is a fair chance Eddy gets moved for two 2nd's or a 2nd/3rd today. If we have 50% retention on the table, cup contenders will bite. Tampa is one I'm thinking about. $1.75M for Eddy who is big and physical and can play both sides who has experience? I think there will be interest to cap hell contenders.

Offering 50% retention is how we get the best futures for Eddy. $1.75M for one season is good value. He's had lots of time to recover from his injury. Can also play both sides very effectively.

Meltdown on this board continues when Hughes makes no other moves

Dubois/Michkov turned into Newhook/Reinbacher. I think the letdown is already in place. The question is how that plays out over the long haul.

Hoping MTL can get back in the 2nd round somehow, plenty of good prospects still on the board like Andrew Cristall, Michael Hrabal, Riley Heidt, Ethan Gauthier, Lukas Dragicevic, Etienne Morin, Mathieu Cataford among others.

I f***ing HATE that we don’t have a 2nd.

I’d say it’s pretty unlikely we get one. I suppose there’s an outside chance we can get into the late 2nd if we package our 3rd along with one or two of our 4ths.

But other than that, there’s not much we have to offer unless you think teams would have interest in Edmundson or Dvorak.

I think we'll be active in the next few days. There are literally no ufas worth signing so teams will be forced to make trades to improve.

We'll sign some reclamation project like Julien Gauthier and call it a free agency. Maybe miles wood.

We have to liquidate some forwards and a defenseman. I'm really surprised Edmundson wasn't moved last night, maybe early today.

After his sub par performance and injuries last season his value has dropped......I would be surprised if he fetches more than a second, if he even gets that. Ideally you would give him the opportunity to show that he is healthy and that his game is back to where it was but we desperately need to clear some space in the lineup to continue to give the kids ice time. I would be ok with a 3rd which might allow us to trade back into the 2nd round.

If they are going to take a goaltender then I would prefer to wait as long as possible and let someone take Hrabal and Bjarnason. I would rather take a shot at one of Gajan, Ratzlaff, Augustine, Clara or Khazheyev in the 4th round. I know not all of them will be there but some of them will make it through. If they are particularly high on one of them I can accept taking him in the 3rd.

I like Nick Landis, Ethan Gauthier, Étienne Morin and Mathieu Cataford...I expect that
none of these guys will be available at pick 69.

I think GM's on legit contenders like those big experience guys. If we offer 50% retention, $1.75M is very good value to cap hell teams.

Of course they will try to acquire for cheap but I do think there will be 3-5 teams knocking on the door. Plus Tampa discussed acquiring him this past TDL.

Still worried about the injury? He played from Mar 2nd to end of season bud. A month and a half of games so it's not like he didn't finish the season.

He did finish the season but he was tentative and played really poorly. He has chronic back issues that only get worse with age.

I wouldn't trade Matheson or Anderson (unless you get something you absolutely cannot refuse) but maybe that's just me.

No to Matheson either, you still need NHL players on that team lol

Anderson I don't care much. Imo if he's not untradeable already, it's just a matter of time

We're not up against the cap at the moment, and this team really needs the toughness and size, so I'd rather keep him in the hopes that he has a crazy year and somebody pays through the nose for him.
