No one, wants our 3 stooges....Likely we're not getting another Nhler out of this draft since we have no more high picks. My wishlist is we trade Hoffman, Armia, Gallagher or another plug so we can be more excited for the start of the season.
Well he was supposed to get one with 31 or 37 so we will just get a worse one now
Arizona was taking ReinbacherHindsight will always be 20/20 but I am not happy with what has happened over the last two days. This is my dream scenario;
Not trade for Newhook. I understand that HuGo is expediting the rebuild and I am fine by it but I’d rather naturally build the team.
Trade #5 to Philly for #7 and #22. They obviously wanted Michkov.
7 - Reinbacher / Leonard
22 - Perreault
31 - Cristall
37 - Hrabel / Dragicevic / Morin / Lardis / Sawchyn / Brindley
Now that would have been a great haul.
I HATE drafts where we don’t pick in the 2nd round.
So do I....I love having multiple picks in the second round.
Oh lord please let Heidt fall to 69. Is that asking too much?Really hoping to see Dvorak or Edmundson go for a 2nd round pick today.. will suck to sit here until round 3.
But to start off today, here are my top 5 remaining players
I expect numbers 1,2, and 5 to go early today.
- Michael Hrabal
- Riley Heidt
- Jacob Fowler
- Carson Bjarnason
- Lukas Dragicevic
Hrabal or Bjarnason today please.
Michael Hrabal
Really hoping we reacquire a second rounder somehow...but after the last couple days my faith on HuGo is really shaken :s
Newhook and Reinbacher is not what I expected with picks 5, 31 and 37
True. I don't hate the Newhook move in a vaccuum, just wanted more from the 5th pick (we have a boatload of pretty good, not quite great D, Reinbacher fits that mold) so combined I'm left generally underwhelmed. At picks 31 and 37, there are absolutely no guarantees you're getting an NHL player, let alone a solid contributor. It sucks in the sense that the event that you're looking forward to watching all year after a tough season (the draft) is not as interesting, but in the grand scheme of things, it's reasonable asset management as you're already getting a good young NHL player that still has some pretty decent upside.
