Okay? Great? I don't understand what your point is. The teams with strong defense and some scoring to boot win cups. Not teams stacked around soft offensive stars. You need a mix. And there isn't even any guarantee that Michkov hits the ceiling that everybody talks about anyways.

Obviously HuGo thought Reinbacher was the better choice to help us win cups. You can disagree with that but none of us are going to know whether it was the right call for at least another 5-10 years. So just wait and see.
That's all we can do is wait and see
Im not holding my breath on the cup
I wouldn’t call Mailloux and Huston sure bet to be NHLer

And on the trade market, NHL Dmen always have good value
Why? And I think Struble going to surprise someplace

No I get it. He is a loser. His saving grace was just wanting to come home. But he would've still been a valuable top 6 F. Not for that price tho. Dude can kick rocks
Agreed. If he had wanted to come home and and forced his way to Montreal and signed for a reasonable price I would give him the benefit of the doubt. And wait to see if he came to play. Now forcing his way off 2 teams and lying if he really wanted to go to LA makes me doubt he will ever give 100%.

I'm sorry. I'm not happy with this pick but if you think anyone drafted after Reinbacher has legit superstar potential (multiple people?) then Reinbacher also deserves to be considered that way. He has #1 dman potential, at best. He has a lot tools and a mature game.
I agree.

Rein has just as much of a chance of being a superstar as Leonard does.

The real ‘problem’ is Mich. did we leave a franchise scorer on the table? He has a higher ceiling than anyone except Bedard in that draft. If he wasn’t a factor, I’d say a lot more people would be happy with this pick.

i feel like there's more here that we don't know (similar to Wright last year), there had to be some other serious question marks because Arizona passed on him as well (and ended up picking 2 Russians with 6 and 12)

Reinbacher wasn’t my pick but I could have live with it if we would have gotten more value by trading down… everyone knew we weren’t picking Michkov which probably limited our options also F’ing Arizona picking a D probably KH knew that he wouldn’t get Reinbacher if he traded down…
This seem to be a pick based on need and position he will be 2-3 years away from having a impact so I not sure lot of things can still change… I wouldn’t be surprised if we will have a shot at even better RD next year… Reinbacher plus the Newhook make for a very underwhelming few days. If Phili didn’t want to pay to get Michkov we should have call there bluff and pick him…
Reinbacher already talking about the weather isn’t a great sign not so sure MTL was is first choice

Well am really not happy with what just happen, after Michkov to be available for us , That was a bad pick at 5th and were not talking until 69th so dont expect any NHLer prospect playing the for us there , What the f*** just happen ....

it was a poorly executed draft, especially giving up those two picks for Newhook lol

EVEN CAREY PRICE DID NOT BELIEVE WE PICKED REINBACHER. He didn't even want to say it. I was so hoping he was going to go "ah screw it - I can't say it - matvei mitchkov"

I wanted Will Smith. Felt he was the right pick & wanted to be here.

Hopefully Reinbacher can make an impact like a Pietrangelo one day.

I wasn't crazy about Newhook trade. We'll see.
