Mets didn’t choke. They were chased down by the best team in baseball. Give the Braves some serious credit.

Looking ahead to the playoffs, bring on the Padres or Phillies. All eyes will be on the Big Three who need to pitch better than they did in the Braves series. Hopefully Marte will be back and ready to go, he adds an enormous presence to the offense. Final thought: really a shame that none of top prospects (Baty, Vientos, Alvarez) were able to add some life to the lineup late in the season when the team needed the energy.

Baty had a decent showing before he got injured. Alvarez, I don't think he touched a single baseball in his at-bats. Zero contact, not even a foul ball. And why put your very-green prospects in the lion's den of Atlanta of all places, in the series with the biggest stakes of the year? Does Ruf suck that much that you don't want to use him for pinch righty ABs?

Mets will finish the season with 100 wins, thats a really good year.

The Braves are just better.

The Braves lineup has no apparent weaknesses 1 through 9 except for maybe d'Arnaud, and he's having a career offensive year. And Mets got swept with no Spencer Strider on the mound and they put their best three pitchers out there -- two of which are among the best ever. Braves just took it to them, and the Mets stranded runners nearly every opportunity they had. The unbeatable armor on Alonso is off. Pitch him high and borderline down and away. He's gotten very aggressive lately. Maybe his ego has gotten to his head.

They choked. Swept by the Cubs. Lost 2 of 3 to Washington, goddammit. Walked away with a split from all those games with Miami. Think they mentioned on the broadcast they're 15-12 over last 27 before last night's loss.

Braves played impossible baseball for months so it is what it is there

But I’d be lying if I said this wasn’t insanely disappointing. Losing out the division is one thing but I do not have positive or optimistic feelings heading into the wildcard round.

The month of September was an enormous buzzkill.

Couldn't care less they played .700 ball. Had a big enough lead to control own destiny. A .500 September is what lost the division.

When push comes to shove, our "Top prospects" (in a very minute amount of time, in comparison) wasn't even close to what the Braves main 3 rookies have produced. If Strider, Harris Jr. & Grissom are subtracted, there is no way the Braves would have done what they have done.

I am so disappointed because I feel like we "blew it", but really didn't. Not like they played only .500 ball. Jeez, give the Braves all due credit (and I HATE to admit that), they pushed, and they pushed until they got what they wanted.

Also, we needed deGrom and Scherzer to be sterling, and they just weren't. Amazing how much they missed Marte'. Lots of runs at critical times were left unclaimed.

Who knows, maybe this will work out better. Sweep the Phillies or Padres and then have to play the Dodgers in 5 instead of a supposedly tougher 7. Gonna need Walker or Cookie to give us the game of their lives. LFGM's!

P.S. Pete will have a tough time catching Schwarber, but McNeil has a good shot at the batting title. Want that for him, big time.
NOBODY is as bad ass as "the Squirrel".

Yankees gonna make history tonight and break a record...

...by hitting into the most double plays in a single game. At 6 right now with two more innings, and the record is 7.

Apparently they must think so. He has been major suckage for the most part, and were trying to catch so me lightning. Absolutely the wrong TIME to do this, not fair to the kid, and question if it were beneficial to him in any way. (other than saying he's now been to the show). Just simply desperation.
Again, if we had Marte, there could have been other ways to fill that black hole. Shame Baty was injured as well, could have had 100+ AB's by now, and showed himself to be semi-stable.

ALL.

RISE.

Congrats to Aaron Judge and Yankees fans. What a talent.

The New York Mets spent 175 days in first place and the Atlanta Braves won the division... that’s baseball suzyn
