im not a math nerd, but it amazes me how a guy that has 20 more homers than the next best guy, is batting .310, is leading the league in ribbies by a bunch, leading in OPS by a significant amount, is on pace to shatter the AL record in homers, and is only 1.7 wins above replacement over the next guy lol.
Judge's defense has taken a step back this year, and he's playing a harder position in CF where he's being compared to more adept fielders.

Defense alone can account for 2-3 WAR over a season.

Offensively, Judge has a good chance at a top 50 season in baseball history according to OPS+ and the best since Bonds in 2004, not counting Juan Soto's 47 games in 2020.

Having a 1.7 lead over a literally unprecedented, unicorn baseball player is pretty substantial lol

1.7 is a massive gap and would be the biggest gap since 2004 between 1 and 2 (Bonds finished with a WAR 1.8 points higher than #2 Beltre.)

Everyone complains about the short porch at Yankee Stadium, but they forget that it's not even the worst quirk in the AL East.

Camden Yards left field wall, The Green Monster, and the entirety of The Trop are more disgraceful

Unbelievable the Yankees couldn't sign him before the season. Mets are going to make the same mistake by resigning the wrong guys amd holding off on locking the face of their franchise. The braves have been locking in their core with Harris, Acuna, Riley, Olson, and Albies all locked in for at least another 6 years. Meanwhile the mets are much older and mostly going to be free agents. Mets should have locked in Alonso, warts and all, because he's not quite as good as austin riley but he'll wind up signing a much larger contract but will probably wait a year as the Mets need to resign deGrom for a Scherzer level deal.

They're moving German to the BP full-time?

How about give him a starting role and then send Montas to the moon?

I don't even want to think of next year, with deGrom likely walking away. I'm just concentrating on the present. Buck has deGrom and Scherzer lined up in the rotation to face Atlanta in their match up that will decide first place. And that is huge. They are also lined up to pitch the first two games of the playoffs. Of course, if they get first place and the bye, that won't matter.

Holmes has turned into a disaster.Bad loss tonight.Blow a 5 run lead, you deserve to lose
