In reality, they have extremely limited resources, a limitation they put on themselves to save a few cents.
It's unreal since they have a borderline top 10 farm system currently and have the MLB MVP on an absolute bender. Not moving some of those higher end pieces at the deadline to add another big time bat is negligence. It didn't have to be for a rental, there were plenty of guys that were available with multiple years of control.

Rizzo getting hurt doesn't help, but they were going to rely on Stanton being healthy? He hasn't proven that.

Judge walking away from the Yankees because they aren't committed to winning a title would be interesting. Maybe it is what the franchise needs to change direction and philosophy.

Machado was the perfect player.

They don't spend on quality assets but are fine with spending it on has-beens... At least they signed Cole.

Well, I hope you're satisfied, Reggie Jackson.

My hot take - this Yankee team will break the record but not win another world series in that span without a change in ownership.

1926-1964 Yanks WS wins/apps 19/26 out of 39 seasons
1952-1983 Habs SC wins/apps 16/20 out of 32 seasons (despite the losing seaosn in 1951 the habs made the finals anyway)
1993-2022+ Yanks WS wins/apps 5/7 out of 30 seasons
1968-1996 Bruins SC wins/apps 2/5 out of 29 seasons
1970-2022+ Jets SB wins/apps 0/0 out of ∞ seasons

It’s hilarious no matter what year it is, the Yanks looking like a triple A team, and the Twins just come here and lose every time.

No chance of sale

Change your statement to gm change and I’m in agreement.

I'm not convinced its Cashman. My opinion is that his budget is micromanaged by Hal. If he thought he could get Soto but Hal doesn't sign-off what's he going to do?

They still have one of the highest payrolls in baseball. Cashman got a chance to strip down and rebuild the Yankees and did it into a team that had the same problems as the one before. He has a philosophy that wins games, but not championships.

Facts ?

Did you watch the chipper Jones era ?

The Braves are your boogeyman…

The Braves lost Freddie Freeman- The Mets have it all going the closer the manager the fans the owner etc …

It’s your time

Mods, if you don't like this let me know.

I don't give a shit and a flying you know what happened in a prior era. Ok?

Can NY fans stop living in the past and just being miserable humans for five minutes?

Hey let's talk about Jessiman again.

Is it really that hard for people to live in the present and be just a little excited about the future or should I stay negative and worry about Chipper Jones from 2000?

This entire region is nostalgic sports memories and good pizza. I will always love my teams and family but present state is a joke.

Good. Nothing really wrong with any of those.

Broadcasts will complain because games will be shorter, but who cares.

Another Yankee Gem...

We take on Donaldson, instead of signing Correra... Minnesota goes on and signs Correra and takes a crap on the Yankee brass

Cashman is a checkers player.

The ghosts are real

Folks, a reminder that this thread peacefully houses two teams and has for many years. Let's not get into a whole back and forth.
There’s only one poster saying how catastrophic it would be if the Braves overtake the Mets in the NL East, and it’s not a Mets fan.

As expected all rule changes passed.

As expected players voted agains pitch clock and no shifts. But they were outvoted and it will be implemented.

Got to say, i think this is the best thing to happen to baseball in years. Might even save the sport from itself.
