It's unreal since they have a borderline top 10 farm system currently and have the MLB MVP on an absolute bender. Not moving some of those higher end pieces at the deadline to add another big time bat is negligence. It didn't have to be for a rental, there were plenty of guys that were available with multiple years of control.In reality, they have extremely limited resources, a limitation they put on themselves to save a few cents.
Rizzo getting hurt doesn't help, but they were going to rely on Stanton being healthy? He hasn't proven that.
Judge walking away from the Yankees because they aren't committed to winning a title would be interesting. Maybe it is what the franchise needs to change direction and philosophy.
