Yep the feeling is splitting up Judge and the 4 hitter makes it more difficult.
Also it gets judge possibly a late AB
I wondered why this guy doesn't have 130 RBI's. Now I know why.

I could never imagine Alonzo batting 2nd in the order.

Forgot what an actual crisp win looked like, German big game, timely hitting, great work from the pen, overall good win, been a long time.

Makes you almost ignore Monty pitching a 1 hit shutout.

Really a great pitching performance by German, speaking objectively. He deserved the W. Cabrera almost blew it for him. Wish Nido was in there instead of McCann. Is it me or does Scherzer work better with Nido?

That’s looking like we traded them Steve Carlton .

Let’s keep a few things straight about Buck Showalter… this happy little old guy act is all new .
Buck was a prick his whole career - a baseball Karen … a stickler and a picker …
He has comments for everyone- not on his team - from attire to baseball mannerisms to guys playing cards.

Now I like Buck - most the core 5 - I include Bernie Williams- will tell you he was instrumental in their careers.

But he gets canned in NY - and joe torre wins a fist full of rings …

He gets canned in Arizona and and DBacks win the WS the year after 2001.

He flops in Texas bigtime

He goes to Baltimore and spends almost a decade of losing - some not all his fault .

He can be trollish - and an attention whore with the top of dugout steps hand waiving .

So when I hear quotes that he says in a privilege to watch Lindor play daily ? I mean gtfo … that’s all an act .
Lindor is the clown type Buck never liked .

Another thing about Buck and he probably gets off the hook here because Edwin Diaz is Mariano like this year ; is he cannot , has not - ever run a bullpen effectively.

I see the Braves - I see the Dodgers even the Phillies and I don’t see a slam dunk .

Overall nice guy Buck and he’s a lifer but he hasn’t gotten the job done - anywhere - ever.

We’ll see

To get us in the mood

He got fired from the Yankees for different reasons though. He probably would have won a WS there.
He had a young Mariano in the pen in Seattle and failed to trust him.

The Yankees didn’t believe he could win a WS - so far they’ve been right .

If you Google Bucks comments over the years - especially about other teams players - you’ll be there quite awhile .

Like when he accused trea turner of not running hard when he was managing Baltimore; he just blurted it out .
Turner was earned the Mr. Hustle award in Washington.

Buck is a Karen .

The day-night doubleheader split leaves me unsatisfied for some reason.
Me too. Getting spoiled are we? I know I am, expecting yet another doubleheader sweep that day. Liked picking up Naquin, but you just cant be striking out like he does. Struck out more in 2 games, (8 consecutively) than Canha does in a month.

Mets have good fundies. One thing I noticed is they take good routes on the base paths. They're not flying out wide coming around third. It's Buck Ball. Cora has been super aggressive all year at third and the fact that they run good routes really helps there. Of course they will get burned occasionally, but they have been very successful in general. It's fun to watch.
Very entertaining, solid TEAM oriented Baseball (the way it should be). The old saying is "Chicks love the long ball", but real baseball fans supporting other teams would/should thoroughly enjoy watching these Mets play, on most days. Void of remembering teams playing a better brand of baseball. Sure there are many, but not necessarily this way......NOT for many, many years now.

Montas has been an abject failure…. He shitz the bed tonite - he’ll be booed ferociously.
Montgomery & Sears proved they could pitch in NY — cashman didn’t value that trait.

Cashman also failed on Robertson and failed on Syndergaard …

No word on Bader return either - also didn’t dump Andujar.
